I have this same problem with a couple of sites where only the home page was crawled. I even added a link of the sitemap.xml to the home page hoping that would help. I have been copying and pasting from Sitemap.xml to spreadsheet and the manually entering pages into profile. Not sure why this is happening. Does the tool need to find every page by crawling the links found on the home page? We always setup our sites with no www and have the www page redirect to the non-www page. I did however add one profile with www without realizing my mistake until afterwards. At this point I don't want to delete the profile with www but wish I could change it to a non-www so I wouldn't have to manually add new pages periodically.

Also my proxies are now down to 22 out of 50 with the automatic 30 minute proxy checking. Should I be checking the proxies more frequently so they don't burn out as fast? At this rate I will hardly have any working proxies at the end of the 30 day proxy rental period as they are burning out faster than they are coming back. I am going to order 50 more private proxies from somewhere else to see if they can perform better than the 50 I got from Buyproxies as doing nothing is not an option.

I raised my OBL limit back to 1000 where I originally had it but I had changed it to 250 after reading or watching a video where you mentioned sites with too many OBL links are not desirable. Maybe that information was dated and now having a higher OBL setting is preferred?

And by the way, here are some keyword results from the past 2 weeks. I just don't want to sound like I am complaining all the time with all my questions and not happy, LOL. I am actually very satisfied with the results so far. I have not done any other linkbuilding to the sites below since I started using NHSEO 2 weeks ago. I know it is still early at it has only been about 15 days, but at this point the results are already paying off. It is not a be all and end all tool, but it definitely is a tool I want to have in my tool box!

chain link fence (city name 130k population) from #10 -> #3
wood fence (city name 2.1 mil populaiton) from #15 -> #9
contractor (city name 1.3 mil population) from #8 -> #4

Thanks

I can change it for you but you will need to send over your DATABASE.db3 file from your "My Documents\No Hands SEO" folder. The best way to do this would be to zip or rar it and then upload to a site like mediafire.com and then PM or email me the address. It shouldn't take me long to change it. Sadly there are reasons that it isn't really practical to allow changes this from within the app directly so it isn't something that will be added in an update but I should be able to do it for you from within your DB.

Don't post the link to your DB in here though for security of your data.

Thanks Jim, pm sent. Please let me know what you find.

Also, I looked into the NHS log and I constantly see that it's wasting a bunch of time/energy to ping various links. I've integrated NHS pinger and set it up in the settings (test is successful) and I also see links being pinged successfully in NHS pinger. Why is NHS itself still pinging stuff?

This would actually explain an issue I asked about previously (NHS building links, then waiting for 3-5 minutes before the post count increases again). Seems like NHS isn't waiting during these 3-5 minutes but pinging, when it really shouldn't since NHS pinger is set up for that. What can I do?

Edit: Just added a profile in the health niche but the success rate is seriously low, like 5 verified out of 1000 posted. In the log I see a ton of messages like "couldn't determine platform" and "couldn't find form" for that profile. What I'm really wondering about is why the success rate is so low for this profile, since it uses the same settings as all my other profiles (that have success rates of ~5%)? I also looked at a few of the sites where it said "couldn't find form" and I was manually easily able to find and post to it, so not sure why NHS had problems?

Also seeing a few "Failed: Captcha present, could not post". Does that happen when the captcha solver wasn't quick enough to solve it? Since I'm using DBC, I can't see why I'd still run into captcha unsolved issues.

I took a look at the crawling and it was to do with the crawling of sitemaps and RSS feeds not supporting all types of xml formatting, on sites with good inner linking of pages it was fine but not on sites that relied upon sitemaps. Either way I have just uploaded v2.17.0.0 and it has lots of improvements, including improvements to the crawling code to support more xml formats.

If you are using No Hands Pinger and don't want No Hands SEO to ping your links as well you will need to disable pinging in NHSEO, easily done by going to Settings=>App Settings and uncheck the "Ping Confirmed Links?" option and save the settings.

Different keywords give different targets so they affect the %age success rate that will be seen, that is common and there is little that can be done to change this other than using different search keywords. A couple of years ago I wrote a post for the support forum explaining the effect different search keywords have on link to post %age which goes some way to show how different keywords give a different success rate for links. One of the compared keyword types was in the health niche and it produced one of the lowest link %ages of all keywords tested.

Not all forms that are visible via a web browser will be usable by NHSEO, sometimes it will be because it is based on a platform that is yet to be added, sometimes due to it being a custom submission form and others due to it being a JS or other script delivered form that is not visible to tools like NHSEO. If a platform's submission form is customised it can stop the form from being detected as a usable form, this happens more frequently with wordpress and similar comment platforms more than the more obscure platforms.

Failing due to captcha when you have a captcha solver can often be due to the site having intentionally broken the captcha to prevent any further posts, no amount of work will prevent that from happening.

Yes that does matter, without the http:// they are not valid links and therefore most platforms may either refuse the link or create a link to a page that is not valid and therefore probably not reachable.

As I suggested for the other issue I can fix this for you but I won't be able to change any links that have already been posted.

That explains why my latest profiles don't have many verified links. Should I just delete them and start over? The verified links are only about 1.5% with about 10k posted and 150 verified for 2 profiles. A 3rd profile I just added about 2 hours ago, so I think I could delete this one without a problem as it is 6,788 posted and 0 verified.

I think I may have also manually added some pages without the http://. Manual = more chances for errors. Maybe an edit check could be implemented? I guess I will just have to delete and re-add them.

At least now I finally have an explanation of why the amount of links really slowed down.

Edit
Just going through profiles to check pages and I just saw the latest profile ID 14 I just created this evening added all of it's pages to my first profile ID 1. I always thought something was wrong with the first profile since it never acted the same as the others. What a mess.

I took a look at your DB and one of the first things I noticed was that the pages you had entered without the http:// were not profiles but pages as part of a profile, this is probably my fault in not confirming the situation first before saying to send over the database. It would have be easy and uncomplicated to just remove those pages and then re add them correctly with the http://.

One thing I did notice when I was checking your DB is that you have a youtube video set as a website profile. Website profiles should only be used when you are promoting an entire website, there is no point in using the indexing feature of website profiles or the crawling features of website profiles when you want to promote a single page of a website like youtube.

I also found no case of pages from one profile existing in another profile and the DB was functioning just fine so there is no issue there. I checked all of your profile's pages and all of the pages in the profiles were in their correct profile. I will PM you the link to the database with the youtube vid profile set as page and the fixed pages that were originally added without the http://

Thanks again Jim for clearing everything up.

I assumed that when I set NHS pinger to do the pinging in the settings, that NHS would by default stop pinging everything itself. I completely forgot to turn off the option/that it even existed. Fixed now.

So are you saying with the new version you managed to crawl all the 14k pages of my site?

Jim,

Like others have said. A+ on the support. In regards to No Hands Indexer what is the downside of having more posting threads? When I have it set at only 10 NHS will output many times more urls than NHI can keep up with.

Thanks

Yeah, in fact when I tested on your site I ended up with about 18k pages, obv this includes all tag/category pages and things like that.

The only issue with running too many threads is that if you over do it it can slow down your connection or potentially start dropping where some of the web requests fail. In No Hands SEO there is a max link number checker so you can test how many threads your machine can handle and then just make sure that all of your SEO software does not go above this figure.

You can limit the number of posts that No Hands Indexer will perform per page if your connection cannot handle more threads through bumping the threads up to get through the list of linking pages faster is probably the better option to get your links indexed quicker.

Sounds great. Please don't get me wrong but there still might be some room for improvement. I just looked at the site and it has around 10k posts and 21k tags, so NHS should have found around 31k pages. With the 18k I'm more than happy, though (assuming most of that number are posts, not tag pages).

I didn't leave it running, I tested it sufficiently to test that it was crawling correctly and left it at that. I didn't want to leave it checking all 18k of those pages, if I had done that it is very possible that it would have found more if there were more pages.

Apologize if this is something I should know. Where do I find the max link number checker on NHS? I'm sure I'm just overlooking it.

Thanks again.

If you are referring to max outbound links on your target pages then this can be set globally in the Settings=>More tab or on individual profiles via the Add Profile Wizard when adding a profile or in the Profile Handler on an existing profile.

If you are referring to limiting the number of links built per day it can be set when adding a profile via the Add Profile Wizard or you can edit this on an existing profile in the Profile Handler.

I am interested in this tool, and have tried the trial version yesterday. On the trial version, update function not work, I try to update but, it still the v2.14.0.0 ( the newest is v2.17.0.0 )

The trial is not updatable at this time. It will be at some point soon hopefully but not right now.

The trial is fully functional and does a good job of showing the vast majority of the features and platforms of the full version. The main difference being that the full version has some more platforms (and is likely to get more soon) and a few new features but the main running of the software and the way you use it is exactly the same.

Anybody want to share any experience with using the tiered linking option?

I'm confused about a few aspects:

1. Which search keywords are being used for the tiers? The main profile I setup has around 4k search keywords (all health related), the tiered profile for it shows progress of "1/3". Looking into the log, I see a ton of keyword searching for completely unrelated stuff like artist names, tropical storms and the US capitol. Huh?

Even after setting all the tiers to inactive this searching for tier keywords continues and completely slows down the searching+posting for the main tiers, pretty annoying. Seems like only a restart fixes this.

2. When editing a tier profile in the profile handler, showing an example comment results in the default comments that come with NHS. Are these default comments posted indeed or comments from the main profile used? The latter would make a lot more sense to build relevant tier links.

3. My main profile has around 100 verified links, so I would assume the tiered profile shows around 100 "pages" that it needs to build links to. Yet, it only shows 20 something pages. Why is that?

4. I have 7 main profiles and 1 tier for each (=14 campaigns). For the main tiers I set a daily link limit of 30 links, for the tiers 100 links. Since adding the tiered linking option, I can barely get more than 15 links per day for the main profiles and maybe 5 verified links per tier, if I'm lucky. Some tiers still have 0 verified links after 2 days! Running with 10 threads (1 searching). Before adding the tiers, getting tons of links posted (and verified links) was a breeze and I had no problem hitting the daily limit within about 2-3 hours. Is it normal for the tiers to slow things down so tremendously?

Curious to hear how experience from others has been.

If you don't opt to "Use Linking Rules for tier pages" it will use generic trending keywords and comments. This is to prevent overlapping link targets and to give your tier pages a totally random link profile that is in no way similar to those of your first tier. Obviously you can change any settings you want via the Profile Handler if you have specific wants from your tier profiles.

There will always be a few jobs left over in a queue that may persist, this is just one of the reasons it is just not a good use of time to constantly stop and start the running.

Unless you have different quality criteria set the amount of links your parent profile creates will mirror that of the pages in your tier profile, the exception being for whois posts as these are not used for ranking and therefore adding them to your tier profiles is pointless.

10 post threads and 1 search threads is very low and likely the reason you are seeing low link figures, that and stopping and starting hurts link figures. With the 20 proxies you mentioned in your email you would be able to run with at least 4 search threads which will help to increase link numbers by a large amount (probably 4x or more). When you first start posting website profiles the whois list is processed which is relatively high %age success chance, this is why link numbers tail off after this list is exhausted.

Anyone hit with new Google update? So far I have 2 sites that were hit out of 8 where I was using NHSEO. Google update usually takes a few days, so will see. The 2 sites that were hit, had other linkbuilding before NHSEO. So far NHSEO does not seem to be the reason.

So many people claiming drops in rankings that have never used NHSEO, very few using NHSEO claiming drops. These ranking changes are very likely site dependant (content, inter linking etc) as much, or more, than link related so I will carry on as I always have.

I have not seen any real changes to my traffic on any of the sites that I routinely use NHSEO on so I can say unequivocally (just like all other penguin updates) it has not targeted or affected No Hands SEO's effectiveness in any meaningful way or at all.

Yeah NHSEO has been my primary source of backlinking and other than a steady google dance over the past month, my serps have been steadily increasing and no problems thus far.
