Well, I know am going to receive a lot of flak and neg reps for this which I don't really mind and I've no other option but to post this.

Being a member of this great community for over an year and I've learnt a lot many things and came across a lot of awesome people(even personally). I am noticing this for sometime and couldn't keep it myself but to express it to know others opinion, so this thread. It's really bad to see the quality of BHW, once a great source of information and a nice community, is getting degraded everyday. Unfortunately it's literally been taken over by the trolls & rep whores(I don't want to name anyone) and 'lounge' section has become the center of attraction out of all other sections(which I believe is not the motive of the forum). I don't have any corrective action to suggest but to feel sorry and hope some measures are taken by administrative team to curb this trend and keep this forum a golden resource for people.

Please vote your opinion instead of bashing each other here...

I agree, there have been a lot of BS threads etc but there have also been many threads like this.
These threads are worse in away because they never achieve anything.

BTW I don't expect this thread would change everything or have any impact overnight, but I believe that there should be a "first step" towards for anything. Again it's not you or me as an individual who can change it but collectively.

Totally agree with you. Something really needs to changed. I have seen few people bullying others + making unwanted posts here and there.

I stopped coming to this board for a long time because of the quality of the new members (not saying all) but the thread quality and the member quality has went down bad here lately. I remember when I first started coming here, this board was the best out there but now it seems like its the same thing everyday. I only visit once a week if that.

Actually, I want to thank you for posting this thread and shedding light on this topic. This has been the biggest reason I barely come on this site anymore. Nothing but pointless threads, troll posts, and all people do is compete to see who can come up with the most sarcastic answer. It was funny at first, but now it's just annoying and immature. So I believe BHW is drastically lessening in quality, unfortunately.

Too much drama.

The board has grown very much. You don't get the same quality/noise ratio when you have 1.000 members and when you have 500.000 members. I suppose that should be obvious to everyone, so I won't press on it.

The way we cope with the issue is simple and effective - there are levels of access. The higher the level, the less the noise. All you have to do is get there.

How? By presenting your own quality. The administration recently revamped the scope of the Jr.Exec membership and has laid a simple path on how to get there.

The Lounge is by its nature a drama pit. Avoid it if it wears you down and concentrate on the productive sections.

To stop troll type of threads, we (including myself) should stop encouraging those type of threads. At least I believe that the ratio of these kind of threads will go down.

Honestly I don't see what you guy's are talking about. I personally learn something new every day here at BHW. Let's be realistic here, BHW is a huge community with tones of new people joining every day. That might be why some of you think the quality has gone down. With a tone of noob's joining and asking the same question's every day you can't help but think the forum quality has diminished. I personally think it's still one of the best IM community's online and that's not going to change anytime soon.

I've always said, this forum needs "a week before you can post" feature.

There could be 2 solutions for this
1) Provide an option to switch off lounge posts from homepage. If anyone is interested in lounge posts they can simply visit that section manually
2) Disable rep button in the lounge section.

I think if that's implemented then more threads will be visible which are related to IM and thus demotivate the trolls

I understand you are worried about the degradation of the forum's quality. But there is no need. The good, serious and contributive members out weigh the trolls drastically. I am guilty myself of posting smart ass posts every now and then but its all good fun as long as it doesn't cross the limit of course. I agree when I joined the forum in April, it wasn't like this, it was different and it has undergone dramatic changes in the past few days. But those changes have happened only in this section. The other sections are pretty much filled with diamonds and gold coins just as when I joined the forum. Since you are a Jr.VIP, you would already know that people are being recruited for Jr.Exec, where the more serious discussions about money making take place. All you have to do is show that you are worthy of it and I am pretty sure you will make it there. Then you wouldn't have to worry about these stuff. If I see a thread/post I don't agree with, I just post my criticism and move on. And if the person is deliberately trying to spoil the forum or a member, I just neg rep him and move on. I appreciate that you want to take the first step towards making the forum whole again. Several other members have also pitched in trying to raise BHW's quality. And of course, their actions are being criticized instead of being encouraged by said trolls. My opinion is BHW will never lose quality.

Try to think of the forum as your class room. There are good students and bad students. But unless the bad students become unbearable, they can't be kicked out of the class. The same applies here. Unless said trolls become too hard to bear, the administration can't do anything about them because thats what the rules state. And as you might have already seen, a few of the trolls were already banned. So we're stuck with the remaining until they do something really stupid and get banned. Let us all just try to ignore these sort of stuff and do our work and at the same time, do our best to balance out the bad posts.

Having said this, I would also like to thank all the members like Leith who are trying their best to do their part of the contributions. Heck, I have to do something too :yield:

well said hardcorebiker if admin team disable the rep button in lounge..99% of dumbass threads wont show up in Lounge..

I totally Agree with you but due to such large number of members its hard to manage because the mods are doing just awsome work which no one can do they are the diamonds in preserving quality as of now there are lots of new members which are registered in 2009-10 which bump old threads and make bhw homepage a bad quality posts!
there is only one way to stop is to add some more mods which are very dedicated to the forum just like BB,jazz,wizgimo,old salt....etc !

If you think there's a big change since 2012, I can't imagine how mind blown you'd be if you were a member from 2009.

It's too big now, it's no ones fault. If you want to have a small community to share with, go into the Jr VIP section or start a Skype group like many have.

I don't think it really matters, forums are just Q&A sites at the end of the day. If you identify a group of people who really get this game, then you'll probably send them PM and inviting them over to Skype, and not really worry about the what happens on BHW so much any more. I think a lot of the knowledge bombs now are dropped in private Skype groups.

I guess it's all mindset, I find each forum has a different mindset. Like BHW is all about gaming search engines and spamming YouTube amongst other things, WickedFire is all about selling pills and services, Warrior Forum is all about how to sell information products, and the Fastlane forum is all about how to create million dollar businesses.

I guess it all depends on what you're trying to accomplish.
