***********************Sorry if this is posed in the wrong section***************

A few months ago I switched hosting to host mantis everything was fine until I checked my bank statement instead of being charged 4.49 which it should have been it was 19.99
host.jpg

When I contacted support they said they had no knowledge of the charge even though it clearly says hostmantis on the report. At this point I'm going to need a new host, Also is it possible to change hosting without the site going offline and without hurting the current ranking

If you didn't order a $19.99 package and they charged you for it, just contact them and show a screenshot of your bank statement that says Hostmantis charged you. They should be able to help you with this though. If you are on a $5 per month billing cycle and they charged $20, that is wrong and it needs to be fixed. Probably just a billing mistake on their end.

I tied even after I showed them the screenshot they still say they didn't charge the 19.99. It's not so much the 19.99 it's the fact that I have 3 sites hosted on that account that are ranking high and if they go offline they will drop their ranking in google and bing.

Jesus man, don't make titles like that, I read the title and thought it was something related to Hostmantis having been hacked or passwords stolen; be more specific in your thread titles and don't use urgency with abstract titles; this is mere forum etiquette.

I host couple of sites with them and they're all fine, not the fastest sites but that's what you get for paying cheap (and what I wanted anyway).

Assuming you used Paypal, just ask for a refund, usually they will honor the refund so as to not look bad in Paypal's eyes.

And your site won't go down any appreciable amount of time if you transfer hosts properly; don't know where you got that from. Maybe a couple of hours (and usually much less if done right), but that is trivial time compared to the long term if you're interested in your sites being a long term business.

The title is just fine it never mentioned that host mantis has been hacked or that passwords have been stolen it just says don't use host mantis
And no I didn't use paypal this time I used their CC option.

Thanks for the info. I am always on the prowl for new hosting accounts at a cheap price. I might have considered them, but now you have deterred me. By the way, never heard of them til now.
