Any news on adding Moin Moin Wikis to the Wiki Base Scrape? Would be great to have as much platform diversity as possible at out finger tips. Thanks.

We are already scraping for those already, but unlike MediaWiki and DokuWiki postable MoinMoins are actually very rare.

You can always see the latest WikiBase stats at: http://www.wikirobot.net/wikibase_breakdown.aspx

Captcha Sniper support is already integrated into WikiRobot. I'm not sure what you mean by "other Captcha Service" - there's plenty of choice for you there as we currently support: deathbycaptcha, decaptcher, imagetyperz, megaocr, captcha sniper and gsa captcha breaker.

I cant use Captchasniper .. senukex /Nohandseo works ..

Working fine on my end, just tested it. Please make sure to enable CSSE in Captcha Sniper with Decaptcher Socket API enabled and listening on port 3456.

cant i just use gsa ser?..

I have no idea why I was not notified about new question in this thread via email. Sorry about that.

To answer your question: you can. Honestly I think GSA SER is a great tool and I even use it myself. But for wikis strictly, WikiRobot is much better and it supports more platforms. We also provide working and tested wiki sites for a monthly fee called WikiBase.

An update has been released - WikiRobot 1.0.31:

  • added new article directories for project article scraping
  • updated de-captcher library (should improve MegaOCR performance)
  • improved MediaWiki success rate
  • improved registration performance
You can manually trigger the update process by going into Help / Check For Updates or by restarting WikiRobot.

An update has been released - WikiRobot 1.0.32:

  • added option to automatically start scheduler on WikiRobot startup
  • links can now include other parameters than href (e.g. title, etc.)
  • implemented new linklicious API
  • improved email confirmation success rate
  • several smaller bug fixes and improvements
You can manually trigger the update process by going into Help / Check For Updates or by restarting WikiRobot.

Hi mate.

Any chance of getting the Capthcha solvers to act in a chain. As in it will make an attempt to solve on something like Captcha Breaker/Captcha Sniper First or Spamvilla first, and should that captcha attempt fail go on to try on manual captcha solver such as de-captcher or deathbycaptcha. So you would select which is primary, and which is secondary.

This could save on captcha solves for us, and not sacrifice on success rate when OCR captcha breaker is not able to correctly solve.

Thanks.

This feature is coming in WikiRobot 2.0 some time in the beginning of 2014. ;)

Any updates on your software? Is this still working right now? How may live links do we expect if we use wikibase?

Of course it's working, we have more than 2000 happy users. It kind of reached the maturity and stability where it doesn't need updates that often anymore. We do fix all the reported bugs though. We have also decided to hold off all the new major features until WikiRobot 2.0 is released.

As for the WikiBase - if WikiRobot is used properly (captcha services, quality proxies, retries, wait times between registration and email confirmation, etc.) you should be getting 60%+ success rate on WikiBase sites. You can always see how many and what kind of sites are currently in WikiBase here: http://www.wikirobot.net/wikibase_breakdown.aspx

Alright. What about this wikirobot 2.0? What will happen to people with WikiRobot 1? Is WikiRobot 2.0 just an update or a new software that will require additional cost to upgrade? This is because I'd like to buy one right now but waiting for 2.0 might be the better choice.

All current customers will be upgraded to 2.0 for free. In fact it will be just a regular update like all the others, performed at software start up. We just decided to reduce the update release cycle and do a 2.0 launch with several major new features packed in one update.
