I found a keyword which has medium competition and the domain is still available. It is an EMD. The question is that would I have a problem if the domain is a brand name like for example "sperryshoes.com" (this is not my keyword. Just an example) or should I add something like affordablesperryshoes.com ?

you can take the risk, but assume that the domain can be taken down anytime. Depending on who you register it with though, you want to find a provider that ignores takedowns.

Any domain registrar you can suggest?

if you running legal business avoid it will safe your time

Try to contact internetbs and ask them if it is a problem for them.

It is a risk. However, you can run the risk of getting a Cease & Desist letter or even legal action. I've seen it take as far as they want you to relinquish the site over to them. i'd say do some more keyword research and go from there.

What if I add some other words on the domain like for example above instead of using "sperryshoes.com" I will use affordablesperryshoes.com would I still be at risk if I use this domain? Its just I found a good keyword and the emd is available but its a brand name like the example shown above.

My answer would be the same. That'd be like "AffordableNikeShoes.com". You'll get a C&D letter eventually. Like I said it's a risk.

Don't buy trademark domains. There are laws out there where you can get into big trouble, like a $100k fine, if the company wants to take the time to take you to court.

Thanks. Then I guess I have to use a non EMD domain then target the brand as keywords. Thanks.

The first thing is that if it is a brand name than it will be already taken.

Secondly if you have some doubt than just Google to get the answers.

If you have taken your time to read on the first post. I already mentioned that the DOMAIN is AVAILABLE.

Just have something resembling it without the company name in it. Good luck, man.
ok Thanks .

try to have a unique name, and use your keyword as inner page or category.

Avoid trademark names in the domain name. Last thing you want is some legal issues.
