Is Directory Submission Still Works..?

I have some websites which are 2 months old, 3 months old and some are 1 and half year old. Now I am thinking about some directory submission and need advice. On my old sites like 6 months or an year will it be good to do directory submission like 1000 or 2000. And what kind of anchor texts should I use like my main keyword or some other.

i think they still work but don't go to crazy with them if there not high quality better getting 20 or 30 quality directory's with keywords than 200 that are naff . Don't use all the same anchor text or keywords or it will look spamy and Google will probably slap you. or you could drip feed loads but go easy still.

I dont really see the relation with domain age and directory submission! But as long as you dont get some links from banned site it should be ok!

Directory submission is not that beneficial and can sometimes actually be detrimental. You would better spend your time building high quality links. Don't go crazy submitting your site to thousands of directories at once.

Niche directory submissions are actually still pretty solid. The niche ones are generally high quality and have stricter approval standards as well.

Thanks for the info I will do the same but the thing is I have submitted my site to a directory like this http://excellentwebdirectory.com . In one day I got 200 links from this directory because it has a widget in left site where new links appears. But the concern is getting too much backlinks from one website will harm my site or not..?

Maybe it would hurt your site's ranking if your creating 1000 of backlinks dayli but a couple of hundreds? not really dangerous, tons of sites wich go viral receive even more backlinks in hours!

Thanks for the answer, as you say creating 1000 of backlinks it menas 1000 from different site or from one site like I mentioned above. I am only creating 5 to 10 backlinks daily but I am getting 200 to 500 daily from those 5 to 10 site. So is it natural or can harm my website...?

Its the worst to choose from backlinks building strategies. Better opt for other options.

All kinds of submissions are working (still) the only problem it to do it calculate and to don't SPAM the same the content over and over. The Directory Submission as you mentioned is working perfect with a rate of 10-20 each 24h with a different content or a well spin one.
