I have tried Google translate but it doesn't do a great job so could somebody translate the following for me, many thanks.

Thanks Duffers, My biggest mistake was posting my Skype ID since then I have had every GURU and SEO EXPERT offer me services.
They must realise that I am obviously impressed when professionals tout for business in that way.
I always wait patiently for somebody to contact me out of the blue when I require professional services.
Who needs an Office, Website or Online Portfolio when they have Skype?

The amazing thing is that after these tossers have given their spiel and you have politely told them to fuck off they immediately ask what you have for sale and what you can do for them.

That's the biggest trouble with Internet Business, every C@NT thinks they can do it.

I unfortunately have my email address all over my main business website. Its amazing how many times a day I get polite(really fucking rude actually) suggestions on how to improve my sites rankings(which ranks great in both hemispheres...do these tools even check before they hit send ? ) When I read people like Netmoney1 doing his old school personalised mail outs, I think to myself "Yes, thats how you engage a customer" I cant imagine ever responding to an unsolicited email or skype request but pen and ink and a basic understanding of what my business is about will get you a hearing.

If I had a dollar for every email I get that offers "most amazing all time bestest SEO for only 199$ USD" I could retire.

I hate "Skype" and when anyone says "add me on Skype plz" it is just a huge red flag. Skype is the biggest time waster. I use it mainly to keep in touch with family and friends...but as far as a tool for business I hate it. There are people that got ahold of my Skype and have nothing better to do that just ask stupid shit all day. Have I mentioned I hate it? lol

Exactly.

People forget that Business has been conducted for centuries.
Just because the Internet is a new medium for doing business doesn't mean we should lose our professionalism.

If people have experience of running real world businesses then they should be able to adapt and should be able to make money online but sometimes I think that, some of the people making money online now would find it very difficult to do business in the real world.

Also I think some people get confused when they are earning a little bit of pocket money online then start calling it a business.

The great thing about this place is that you can immediately tell who the bullshitters are and who are the dedicated people are.
There is a mix of young professional people, those with real world business experience such as yourself and then there are the busllshitting trolls like me.

Wow epic thread, this is one of the reasons i rarely visit BHW now days. The amount of BS threads that have been popping up more and more recently over the last few months is unreal. When I first joined I thought this place was a gold mine, helpful members, and valuable information, okay ya had to do a bit of digging to find the decent info but it was worth it. But now... Well theseodude speaks for it all really.. Glad to see some of the members I actually looked upto when I first joined talking sense still. People come to this forum thinking that they can make a fortune over night and in all reality it isn't like that at all. If anything you should treat it as a much bigger business as you would in the real world, say you start a car repair center in the Uk (bloody fellow brit here) do you think someone that's got a scratch on there door in the USA is gonna drive all the way to the UK to visit your "business". Online you have access to traffic from ALL OVER THE WORLD!! The potential to turn your life around from being a high school drop out to a millionaire is there! Just like in the real world, only online you have a much broader and vast customer base to promote your niche/product to. Yet people don't realize this.

I'll be honest, I didn't when I first joined, I was a high school drop out noob, didn't like working for someone else and earning them money so wasn't really going far in life, then one day a mate introduced me to computers and I was hooked, discovered bhw and realized the potential that is out there. Working for myself.. It's taken a while for me to realise that you have to treat it as a business but it's sunk in at long last! Just a shame that bhw has gone down hill a bit, no offense to the admins and mods as they do a quality job manageing the forum but if new members actually read, read, read and read more then hopefully they wouldn't be making dumb threads like this! There are some extreamly rich members here, not because they were born into a rich family but because they've got 1 thing that most new members don't.. Knowledge of the IM world!

On a side note, skype sucks since the new update, I've lost count of how many adds I get from e-whores...
