International TLD Registries

Hey what's going on guys?

I've been looking for a few domain registrars that register country specific TLDs.

Google search brings up a couple of registries but I'd prefer to use something that I can get some input on.

And being that we're an international community, I figured I'd stop by and see what I can muster from here.

I've already checked namecheap and godaddy. Neither of them have the specific TLD I'm looking for.

I'm specifically looking for .com.br domains.

Actually, .com.br domains are second level domain names. These are not TLD

Thank you for the source. It seems that godaddy does support .com.br but they're charging $90/yr.

I am not sure what you really want to know,
is it the qualification requirements, or cheapest, or most reliable registrar?

I don't have any experience when it comes to ccTLD or ccSLD so I'm basically looking for registrars that people have already used and have experience with when it comes to country specific domains like .com.br.


Some of those sources you listed I looked at a little earlier, they're charging only $34/yr or so. That's why I mentioned that godaddy is charging a little too much.



..seems like I need to spread some of the love.

There are some restrictions I think on the .com.br and .net.br and the .org.br is less restricted. e.g.
"To register a .COM.BR domain name the applicant will need to have a presence inside Brazil.
A CNPJ number (Brazilian tax ID) or CPF number (Brazilian ID) will need to be provided as proof of the applicants Brazilian presence."

A natural alternative would be to look for one with much less restrictions e.g. br.com I guess?

However, I have used domainmonster.com in the past to circumvent some restrictions with primary and secondary Domains,
perhaps you might "strike it lucky" if you check, although sometimes the .br extension can take 48 hours.

I have been checking Russian registrars, they are charging 40$ for a com.br domain, which is sounds like a lot for second lvl domain.
It is quite pupular site and trusted, I have been getting from them few .ru domains

Hard rules, Individuals: Brazilian ID (CPF) and the Brazilian address, phone. But I think photoshop can get you around??

Ok, I find that some companies offering service by providing all necessary local information, but they charge about additional 60$ year for it, domain + local info service is total a bit more then 100$, it is not 1$ go daddy domain))) Any how mb you can just photoshop id or ask Brazilian BHW members to help

Snort, registro.br is the well known registrar in brazil. One of my brazil friend says, he register the .com.br domains for 12-14$ from them.

Yeah I was looking at them last night. Thank you for the effort and posting in the thread.

It seems that a lot of these places that register .com.br are places reselling from registro.br with triple the price.

I can't rep you anymore either..
