If your link profile looks like this, you got slapped on the latest update. The above is from an experiment of mine who got nuked with the latest update. Unfortunately, most SAPE users do this.

When you buy SAPE links ask the seller not to leave a footprint like the one above. If the Russian map stands out like a Borat swim suit at the beach, then you probably did something wrong.

Rinse, repeat, diversify, stay under the radar brothers. Don't blame anyone for your mistakes and move on.

Not true, none of my Sape links were from .ru domains and still my sites got penalized.

Did your sape non RU domains have RU domains pointing to them?

This is exactly what I said in a previous post but most disagreed with me.

ps. What is that beautiful software you are using to show your graphs? looks amazing!
 
Sape sellers as well. If your going to do SAPE be able to at least read Russian and understand what links you are getting.

Also increasing amounts of the network are getting exposed and webmasters disavow reports will surely continue to expose more of it. The .ru domains are the easiest thing to target, especially if its a Cyrillic site hitting up an English site. You have to remember a lot of Russians can't really read English, again something easy to clamp down on.

more like you got raped because sape backlinks are easy to catch in more than just one way.

stupid fucking networks getting crushed because they get too popular. if you are gonna buy links buy links the smart way, not from some half ass "russian l33t hacking bullshit" network homey.

sorry to vent but ive been hearing my friends talk my ear off about how their sites lost rankings bc of sape. No they lost rankings bc they used sape and everyone and their mothers were using sape.

when something gets too big google crushses it like the rodent it is. if you want to be serious dont go for the big networks. find the smaller ones that are hush hush. thats what i did and im not worried about things like this from happening.
 
That is why you use the built in filters to remove unwanted TLDs from your placements. There are plenty of .com/net/org sites available in SAPE. Unless you're trying to rank on Yandex, your English .com site should never have so many .RU links.

As lover pointed out, the recent round of manual penalties affected even campaigns using only .com/net/org English links. I seriously doubt Google is using TLD as a metric for these penalties.

P.S It's not just the SAPE network being targeted here. I've seen these penalties come in now from campaigns using other link networks I test and sites with backlink profiles with no paid links at all.
 
gave up SAPE about 4-5 years ago. crappy results and easy way to get penalized. won't suggest.

Agree that they're not using simple TLD analysis for this. But when you do give Google a simple footprint like the one I presented above, we make their job a lot easier. Suffice to say, it took google less than 20 days to zero in on my attempt.

Normally I'd expect a well done job to last more than 20 days, but this is all the slack I got.

So if link providers are leaving a clear footprint like that map, then they've got something to work on. This was just too amateurish a mistake, there goes 3 to 4 months work. Rinse, repeat.

Talk to your link providers, folks. Easy and trivial link profiles (90% one country) are just too trivial to nuke.
 
Unless its a churn and burn site I would avoid sape. It was a small part of my links and I still got nailed...under a month of having them.
