I just got "Unnatural inbound links"

I recently used a service from a very reputable provider. I had canceled the service a few days ago when I noticed a huge drop in serps. Apparently it wasn't fast enough. There links caused my site to have manual action taken upon. I have read there instructions on how to fix it. One of the instructions is to go to webmaster tools and download a list of links to my site and remove the bad links. When I go to webmaster tools it only shows 2 links that is from facebook and tweeter. And when I check the manual action tab it says "no manual webspam actions found". I'm at a lost here. I am going to call adwords in a few hours when they open up. I don't know what to say or do. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Pretty sure ringing adwords won't help as that's a totally different system. Adwords is nothing to do with rankings etc.

A lot of talk recently about using sape links was a factor why lots of people got the unnatural link penalty (as did I) so if you used a service such as that then that could be the reason.

Google mostly Targeting the.ru TLD Backlinks.. If you site has any you can get that Mail from Google.. Whether it's sape or Not...

I would recommend against submitting a link disavow request, just aim towards cancelling any bought, shady links and aim towards building more high quality links. Don't just stop as that will look like a huge red flag to Google that you were doing SEO on your site.

Why call adwords? they cannot do anything about that.

But as Execute said, you'd better not do any massive change now. Do not remove a huge amount of links as their algorithm is going to detect that and it will know for sure that you are trying to trick the system.

Like the others have mentioned, Adwords will not be able to assist - that is a sales department of google.

The penalty you have received has also been experienced by many others.

There are two things you can do:

1. Do nothing. Don't raise further suspicions by stopping your link building activity.

2.

If your site is important to you then i would go and remove all links you have purchased and submit a reconsideration request. I would only bother to do this if this is a long term business. If you plan on buying links on the site after they remove your penalty then i wouldn't bother because they will probably just penalise you again and cause you more frustration.

Webmaster tools is a google tool to create FUD and maintain control over webmasters.

They present the unnatural link message a few days before they present the manu actions, so thus they get you busted, if they didn't tell you what you did wrong, then why did you fix it? And thus you are turning yourself in, just like police take criminals in and one of them says "I swear it wasn't me that stole it" and the cops say "who said you stole anything".

I disavowed every link. Including legit ones. I'm not admitting guilt. Besides there guidelines is ridiculous and 99.9999% of sites in google are breaking the rules.

One of my sape sites started out similar to yours.
firstly I got the email about unnatural links.
Went to check. No manual action spam was found.
A week later i went back into it - A partial site message came up and said some links were devalued.
I was still going strong in SERPS.

Then a few days back i went back to check when all my SERPS dropped and site wide action was taken.

Dont' even worry about the messages. Just look at your SERPS. If you have dropped 50 spots for no reason then you are penalised. You are cactus. Move on.

I've spent the last few days getting my new sites running and I'm ready to burn again baby.
