Making the Homeless smile :)

Why even think about it.

If you can help someone out and feel they are genuine, throw a buck at them or 2. It will make you feel better and good energy will surround you. IF you can't afford it, don't give. Most people who are homeless are suffering from Mental Trauma not physical. Trust me....you don't want to be in their shoes.

At least that's how i feel....

QFT. A lot of the self-righteous goo in this thread indicates how little they know them. Nothing pisses me off more than that asshole that makes me get stuck again at the red light, because Mr. "I want to do something good for the poor" has to hold everyone up so that he can give that drunk with a cardboard sign a fucking dollar. Fuck that drunk, and most particularly fuck that asshole up ahead that thinks that giving a guy 1/5 of a 40 oz. is going to do him some good. All that asshole is doing is making me late for work.

Sometimes, it's all I can do to stop myself from flooring the accelerator and pushing that motherfucker through the intersection. After he crashes, and I'm on my way to work again, THEN he can give that nasty booze hound his dollar.

Ever offer them food? They don't want food. They don't want work, either. They want cash. They want cash for beer, and/or cash for drugs. And that's all that they want.

So you think they're all drunken bums? Really? I don't know where you're from but in America a huge chunk of us are a paycheck or two from homelessness ourselves. Case in point...me! I raised four children and worked hard all my life then bam; I got hit with an auto immune disease and am now struggling on S.S.I. It's that easy son.

Also, in Massachusetts, during the early 1990's a large majority of our mental health facilities and detoxes, half way houses etc. were closed due to lack of funds. So did all these mentally disabled people just get cured? NO! There living in the streets in record numbers...

And if I ever do find myself homeless on the cold streets of Boston, with no way out, you best believe I'll be cuddling up to a bottle of Jager myself...

I assume you're young and you best cherish it! In the blink of an eye it can all turn to shit...

Thanks for the reality post...

Folks would better understand what may be around the corner, by reading this post one more time...

To the poster keep hanging in there dude...

Sad side note: Just watching the local news and homeless children in Massachusetts is at a nine year high! That means 15,000 (1 in 15) have NO place to feel safe in this world.

And for those of you who think that we as human beings we are not accountable for such atrocities. Think again!

If two kids with spring water and a bag of bananas can accomplish what they did in that video, imagine if we all gave a little bit back.

If you feel money or food wouldn't be appreciated then donate some time. I can tell you first hand the homeless at the Pine Street Inn would surely appreciate it... :)

Unfortunately this happened in many states at different times creating a homeless culture. That's what we're dealing with, a homeless culture in the
U.S. So as annoying as they sometimes are (some of them would annoy the shit out of Mother Teresa!) the solution is expensive because you can't empty mental
facilities patients on to the streets and expect them to behave or disappear. Many of them couldn't work if they wanted to. Not without a lot more
professional medical assistance.

Sad news man. We can hope "one day our children will play". Just see this awesome song

I am not a guy who usually think so philosophical but this video made me think that how our small actions can make people happy :) No matter at what highness you reach in your life, if you cannot understand this small things, it isn't worth living your life. I just wish if everyone of us at least spend 10% of the amount that we spend on entertainment, we can surely bring smile on millions of faces :) :)

this is how I feel right now

Bhai mujhe bhi pata hai unhone gaya hai lekin you mentioned that comment at the right time for the right moment :)

here you go-
To offer yourself to someone for smiles,
To share someone's grief,
To have love in your heart for someone,
This is what life is all about.

Granted, we are poor, by the standard of our pockets.
Even so, we are rich at heart .

Perish for love that is Life,
Crave for spring that is life,
This we believe, though others may not,
That this is what life is all about.

Relationship between the heart and the hearts trust,
The name of love lives on because of us.

Even if we die, we will be remembered by someone,
That we will smile through someone's tears,
A flower will tell a bud, on and on,
That this is what life is all about!!!

Not all homeless people are drunks... I like to believe there are good people out there that are just down on their luck. Check out the movie cinderella man, reminds me of those people that work hard but still might fall into hard times in their lives.
