Let's Talk About Getting Backlinks

I like this post.

The main thing that is worth adding is RSS based activities.

I would also like to hear more about bans from social bookmarking such as when white hat becomes black / grey hat.

:D

PAD sounds very cool, I guess thats why some toolbars are offered as marketing tools..
but getting back to creating a plan.

Right now I am going after new niches including some adult ones.

How much can a plan change when promoting adult sites ?

Right now I am using Howie Schwartz affiliate ebooks for one of my adult sites,
but I know his methods are for more "main stream niches" so how much can a backlinking campaign change regarding adult sites ?

* Sorry to get off subject

Any backlinks related to design whether they be CSS galleries, wordpress themes, free templates etc are very useful.

Google is relying less on backlinks (unless they are paid, just look up credit cards in the SERP's) and more on content. Think about how the system has evolved over the past few years, so many sources of backlinks have been discounted.

About the only link with REAL juice is one in the blogroll or somewhere permanently on the main page. The only way to get these real links is to create tons of splogs and launder the juice. The other ways are link exchanges, but I don't recommend these as google gets good at tracking these down.

People don't realize how sophisticated Google's algorithms are and most artificial link building that you try to look natural just isn't.

When I use the SERP's even for vague terms, a site which has gamed its backlinks rarely shows up. Quality links and MSM links give the real juice.

Think about it, links in posts devalued, most comments no followed, forum links devalued, article marketing devalued, social media devalued, hub pages and squidoo valued. Google eliminates more and more options for offsite SEO.

Directories still have value in terms of juice, but unless you are laundering that juice, what good does it do you? This takes a ton of time so I don't do it.

Best links are paid links and I think most people know this.

Guy with credit cards top ranking in google is creditcards.com and he spends a ton of money on paid backlinks. But see if he didn't have the credit cards domain name he wouldn't even make top 10, no matter how much juice he has.

I would be more concerned with using latent semantic indexing, selecting the right domain name, regular posting, and focusing on internal linking.

The algo has hundreds of factors, but I would say these make up at least 70% of ranking high if not more.

Any one can tell me how to earn 20-25$ per day?
with the using of adsense and directories.

Newmania I think you're right about most of your points but not all. Ive been frustrated doing the article directories, link exchanges, blah blah blah for some time now and i dont even see benefits at all from them anymore.

The only thing I see benefit from (and it happens quickly) is getting great links from highly relevant sites. and I dont mean the lame link exchange page that has a terrible pagerank and dozens if not hundreds of links on it. Those are worthless if you are going for anything decently competitive. My keywords are very competitive and Im up against a bunch of other SEOs.

I happen to own about 8 domains all within the same niche (initially not for SEO purposes). The first 5 domains are all more than 2-3 years old with full websites on them, they are all almost real companies, with decent page ranks. When I began SEOing one site I did the typical crap just explained and nothing really happened. Maybe I moved up a touch here or there but nothing compared to the hours of work put into it. Then, I experimented with adding links from the other domains. I did them in-text with my desired anchor text and the results began to happen immediately. Then I would try a few more. The rankings jumped. Then I tried adding links directly on the home page (in the footer) with my anchor text. Rankings jumped again. Im now 1st page but floating in the 7-10 range for all the keywords.

Im at the point now where I feel that If I can add about 4-5 more relevant sites, I will be untouchable. All the while my competitors have hundreds and in some cases 1000's of links but most are from worthless link exchanges (if Google is on to link exchanges, then why the hell are these people still using that software and ranking #1).

The problem I have is when starting a new niche. I dont have the power I was lucky with in my example above. I dont have extra old domains with established PR websites and unique content. Now we all know its easy to create new websites with unique content but I need to know how to get them quickly ranked so that the backlinks will actually count for something. This is my challenge.

Can anyone advise on this?

adding links from the other domains is a good idea. But it think one thing important you shoud keep in mind is the related. I mean you the links you adds should have some related to the topic on your old website. I think Google will be nice to see more backlinks related to the similar subjects.

Building backlinks is a long long way project. We all know what method we can do to build backlinks. People know these ways, but why they feel painful? I think the main problem is planing.

For me, i will list one week plan before i begin to build backlinks. For example, i will use 1/3 time to follow ******** blog, and submit articles takes me 1/3 time. The rest time will be used for blogging. But keep in mind that you should list the main point in your one week work. Then you can try one ways to build backlinks next week.

This regular job will make your work effective and cost-less time.

Software submission is a good way to get back links. Create a typical screensaver through screen saver factory, create a PAD file, upload the files, submit to software directories(depends on software list).

P.S - For newbies go and try out robosoft to submit your PAD files for 30 days free, and than maybe you can switch to a more hardcore software like GSA.

great stuff! Let's keep this going.

What SEO Automation tools (PR Storm, SENUke, etv) do you guys use?

but what software?

I have a bunch.

To name a few: BMD, PRStorm, SENuke, IM Revolution, Howie Schwartz's Black Hat Lab...

Like a said, diversification is the only true way to keep your ass covered.

Finally someone with some real story. Most of the link building mentioned here is worthless. Directories, pad, social bookmarks, articles, web2 properties are all useless if you want to be first in a halfway decent niche. They're good for a start, but all these hundreds or thousands of links can be outperformed by "5" worthy links.

I could go on and on about this, but lets get back to your issue Lakers. The way to be nr#1 without an arsenal of supporting domains is to get links on relevant quality websites. To get these you will usually need money. Search in google for your niche and contact start contacting the owners. If you're in acai berry you would start searching for "acai berry" and then related terms like "weight loss", "lose weight", "diet" and everything in between, top to bottom. Then you write down worthy domains and contact authors for buying a link on their homepage. Write a personalized message to everyone, don't just write a message and send it to 50 prospects.

You're surely trying to rank your root domain for more than just one keyword so be sure to use an anchor that won't directly compete with the owner. You'll have a higher chance of your anchor being accepted by that webmaster.

If the website has a blog or some kind of article section, you can also try guest authoring, but you'll need some good marketing and a very good article if you want such a high profile website to accept your "guest content". You can also pay them for a post, but be sure you're on a quality website (age, link profile, authority, PR)

You can't get better links than these are.

I'm kind of new to Link Building and hate it to death. It's probably my least favorite part of IM.

Would you guys recommend BMD? I'm just trying to make this as automated as possible.

Also - what do you mean by articles? Just articles that go on your site or like article directory articles? Because there's no point of this because the person who puts your article on their site doesn't put your link on, I thought.

I have an idea but not sure if this is actually going to work. Perhaps some feedback/critique from more senior members will shed more light on this.

How about buying domain names that are PR3+ (any niche). Set up an autoblog on them (about the same niche as your money site) and pull a few articles a day from an RSS feed. Make a blogpost on these autoblogs with your anchor text linking back to your money site. Voila. You just received a backlink from a high PR site within your niche with your anchor text.

Will this work? Thoughts?

I have a new blog and I did a good amount of web2.0 in the beginning. It worked wonders for getting my site noticed, all of my pages and posts are indexed but the only link I have showing in the serps is one little link from a blog carnival I did. I think these are great because the blog owners are literally asking you to put your stuff on their sites. How much easier can it get than that.

Using networks such as the BNET in Firepow and services like fantomaster's 10linksaday.net are waaaay powerful. No way to do this for free, but it works.
