This site was recommended to me from a Mturk forum I frequent. I've just recently lost my job, and while I'm trying to supplement my income by turking, it's just not making the ends meet. Hence my arrival here! I hope to learn as much as I can and give back to the community.

Welcome to BHW :borladuck

So what is your skillset so far, as relates to IM?

What's up, bro! Welcome to what could be the best thing that ever happened in your life.

Sorry, crowdsourcing through amazon. I have roughly 0.01% experience with IM, but I'm willing to learn and I think that's most important at this point.

yeah, be very grateful to whomever led you here. This IS the best thing that ever happened in your life. At the right time.

It seems so! From what I've seen so far there's an abundance of information here. I just need to learn how to utilize it.

If you "read" more than you "do", you won't make a penny. Start trying new methods. Write articles for people, join fiverr, buy low sell high, resell services, start a service, theres alot of ways to make a buck. Point is, take action

Just trying to find a starting point, it's a little overwhelming.

I'll throw you a bone,,, make a fast website, make some business cards, get a #, and go around to local businesses- tell them that you will help the attract more business,, and bring in more college students,,, make something up, go to vflyer.com and make nice craigslist or "cl" ads for them. You will have no problem getting $99 a month to throw a few ads up and doing light social media. I'm sure you can find 10 local businesses around your campus.

I'd agree with this. Just start doing. Creating your first site or so, whether it's for local marketing or not, is a great starting point.

That being said, what type of skillset do you have outside of this? I'd suggest finding a restaurant job. Hone your sales skills, build relationships.

This type of thing is much easier to get into when you're not stressing on it being your only source of income.

Well I'm attending college in pursuit of my associates in computer science, for now at least. I have a side business for my photography (i.e. stocksites). That's pretty much the highlights. I'm looking for a position outside of the home, but I'm finding myself in need of something else in the meantime, until I can actually pin down a slave wage. I would still enjoy a least a minimal income coming from somewhere besides my job though.

Fantastic. Well, if you guys have any thoughts on a starting point, that would be helpful. I'm thinking of utilizing my photography, but I'm not even sure if I should use a blog or a website. Sorry if my questions sound ignorant, but we all start somewhere.
