---- THREAD CLOSED 12/21/2013 ----
Hello Guys!
If you're a massive sporting fan like me you should realize one of the world's biggest boxing match is happening on the 14th of September. The fight is between Mayweather v Canelo, millions will be tuning in to watch the fight. The fight is on PPV (roughly $25 for the whole night on Box Nation) many people of course will watch the fight till way but thousands will also try watching the match through live streaming portals etc.
This only means one thing ~~> A HELL OF ALOT OF TRAFFIC.
Sooo you're thinking how to make money off this.....!?
There are two ways you can set it up;
Set up a free website using weebly or blogspot or buy a domain. I've set a website up for this match and the domain includes keywords such as 'canelo' 'mayweather' 'online' etc.
If you have decided with a domain then set up a landing page, making the page is simple is the most important thing! I personally found them most effective. Don?t worry about putting any content on the site ? just a title like ?Watch Mayweather v Canelo here LIVE!? should be fine. And a note saying ?please be patient and wait for the stream to load? ? people will quickly exit if it doesn?t load immediately.
I would recommend embedding a stream from a site like uStream or Justin.tv ? you can also use highlights from a previous fight of Mayweather if you don?t want to find the stream. As long as they see something loading then they will just assume that the coverage is legitimate.
You should now have a site setup:
A simple header (rip a banner from another site); an introduction to the event and a fake video player with an embedded stream. You could go a step further by adding things like a Facebook share button ? you might get lucky and go viral.
Once you have your site up, it?s time to setup your content locker. I use CPA Lead for this as it allows me to use higher paying offers and geo-target countries that you won?t get on specialist content locking networks. As it?s such a high traffic event, I wouldn?t bother having it load on-click (e.g. when they start the video). I would set a 2-5 second delay on the locker popping up. It will give the stream enough time to start, but not enough time for them to realise it is not actually live. Rotate a few RELEVANT email submits (there should be loads around at the moment) and that?s done on that front. Add a message to the locker saying something like ?please complete a short survey that should take 30 seconds ? the live stream will then unlock?
Now for the most important part, getting traffic!
There are literally hundreds of sources of traffic, but here?s some that previously worked well.
- Justin.tv (spam chat boxes)
- Ustream (spam chat boxes)
- Twitter
- Boxing Forums
- Facebook fan pages
- Yahoo Answers
- Related blogs (hopefully find auto approve comments)
- Buy 1-day seo blasts on Fiverr with your link (do this the day before). Doesn?t matter if your domain gets sandboxed as you?ll only use it once.
This method has worked will for me previously and its crazy the amount of money you can make in such a short space of time with such little investment of money and time!
If you build up a good following from this, you can use it again and again for other events. Sports fans are sports fans ? they want to watch everything. Don?t forget to try things like highlights as well ? people are always looking for these and will be for months to come.
I will be here to help you guys, shoot me a PM or message me on Skype ?SolaRank?
Good luck!
