Beginners guide to SEO

I have this website up and have only been doing instagram and social netowork marketing....

It's not going too good.
No conversions as of yet, and i had 7 members on a trial. Out of those 7 members ... 0 converted.

Im starting to think SEO is mandatory.
Does anybody have and SEO beginners guide things i should look at.

If you're 100% beginner then try writing articles. They will give you high quality backlinks (if you submit to good quality article directories, like Ezinearticles) and it will give you writing practice. After you have mastered articles, try moving onto something else. I started with article writing about 10 years ago and it was the first kind of income I got from working online. I still write articles for tier 1 links, but I am very specific about which article sites I submit to. I tend to only use Ezinearticles and a few others.

Ezinearticles are very strict about their submission guidelines, so if you can successfully post to them on a consistent basis, you're heading in the right direction.

it is introductory and advanced courses on SEO.

As a beginner you should try to write quality articles those will help you to have quality back links. Besides you need to know about the proper submission guidelines to post them successfully. Further you can find free tutorial online to learn basic rules of SEO.

read all bst threads and the techniques. That itself gives you a fair idea of what will work and what seo is all about.

If your're serious about SEO and learning about how to build a correctly structured site along with all the on and off page seo techniques then "The Art of SEO" 2nd edition is a must read. Buy it via Amazon, or look for it online, it's about for free if you look hard enough

Moz is a pretty bad place to start SEO lessons, you are going to learn to do nothing because everything we do here is against their practice of so called white hat.

Don't get me wrong, it's a good blog but take what you learn there with a pinch of salt.

If i were you i will begin by searching different forums and search engines not just BHW because
SEO can not be learnt in one day except if you are buying a course.

Even at that, you have to be sure the course is really worth it.

to learn fast on seo, i recommend reading some seo sales thread at the marketplace..
these will give you information on what type of links you should build and the architecture of these links..

I started a year ago or so by reading an ebook but found that reading around the forum is much better. The forum gives up to date information which is a lot better

Yeah I too have been victimized of countless ebooks and WSOs from there. I was just trying to learn some valuable things but i kept getting lied to over and over. Ended up making my head and wallet lighter. =\

i really think it should be a mixture of seo courses and reading threads on forums...
both can sometimes be misleading and lacking but together you can form your own opinion
and find out what works... best thing to do is of course to try it out for yourself and find
out what works and what doesn't work...

no one ever became a martial art master just by reading a book...
