Typically, they look like this

/dp/B004ZKU3NK/?tag=TRACKING-ID

Through Amazon's system, they add in a bunch of other code, so it finally looks like this:

/gp/product/B004ZKU3NK/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B004ZKU3NK&linkCode=as2&tag=TRACKING-ID

What is the difference? Why are there two versions? What is all that random code in the second version?

Which one do you use?

The 2nd is just analytics for them, referrers, etc

They have several internal formats for the URLs, though as an affiliate you should use only the ones provided. Those hashes you see on the URL are tracking codes, they encode your session so they can do "visitors who bought this also threw their cash at X, Y ,Z"

Keep your affiliate link posts on reddit under 10% of your total post count otherwise they'll ban you. :)
