Should I stop bothering about squidoo?

As links on squidoo are now nofollow, are you guys still focusing on it or moving to something else like hubpages? My squidoo page was quite popular and I still get a lot of traffic from it. Bit confused, should I ignore it altogether?

If you're looking for traffic, keep it up otherwise it will die. It obviously doesn't pass link juice though. You'll have to weigh where your time is best spent by yourself essentially.

A lot of people think nofollow doesn't really matter. Personally I still think this stuff works for SEO, just not as much as it used to. It's all part of a natural link profile to keep Penguin happy.

I used to create quality Squidoo pages for all of my clients in the past but I didn't see large ranking improvements.

I agree with what some other people said, it's useless for SEO purposes but that doesn't mean it won't create traffic! I think it's totally worth doing both because it can bring you traffic and because it can make your link profile look more natural by adding in a few nofollow links.

Determine what the roi is on the page for the money and the time you invest. If it is making you money but not worth your time, then outsource. If it is not worth your time or money... then don't do it.

I do have an account on squidoo but never really get active on it.
I think for SEO purposes or marketing, better use social networking sites and/or much popular article writing sites which allow ******** links.

Isn't the end goal to bring traffic? If you're getting quality traffic from your squidoo lens, I'm not sure why you would abandon it, unless the ROI makes it a complete waste of time to upkeep.

Tell me if I'm missing something here....but I thought it was just contextual links that were nofollow.

The Link List module is still follow? I can't seem to find any indication in the source code to prove me wrong...

nofollow is still useful. with so many sites now going the nofollow route, Google is going to wind up paying attention to those. you know how this stuff changes and then goes right back...the same thing with nofollow.

with squidoo, if you had a page that was active, definitely keep working at it. I had a tumblr page for years that I didn't pay much attention to just used as a syndication site, but it started kicking in last year and sends a lot of direct traffic over. squidoo can do that too and it's a waste to drop a site that's already got natural traffic going. the good thing with lazy people, is that they'll jump ship on a social media site if it looks like they have to put a little effort in which leaves the rest of us able to clean up all those missed opportunities.

Squidoo links have been good from all times, You should keep the account and get links which can be beneficial as they are of high PR.
