Its driving me mental! Please help

hey all

First of all please help since I have now almost given up. So here I have this website, I only do SEO for my own website and that is it. I have been using few software for creating campaigns and the normal other stuff like social sharing etc etc. Everything is going alright, not too good but not too bad. Since the website is content heavy, usually once any article is published, it pretty much gets indexed in a day. Lots of pages are the 1st page of G for a wide variety of keywords. Now to the real thing.

So I decide to sell something. I create a page in asp.net umbraco however due to ugly names, I need to make a redirection. So I come up with this nice redirection link that has our keyword as well as product name in it. Did this a month ago, ran several campaigns, basically this would have been enough to rank any page on our website in top 5 easily. However I get worried last week since its not even indexed!! Now I look into it and I realize that my automatic sitemap generator had put in those 'ugly' pages in the sitemap and hence G had indexed those rather than nice friendly ones. Btw I am using Friendly urls only for one of these two pages on our website out of say 400+ pages on our website. So now I remove the duplicates through G, get them out of sitemap, put in my nice friendly page from G webmasters submit it, and even add it to our sitemap. However again several days, nothing! Even the article that was published two days ago has been indexed.

I can share the URL with you experts on the PM. I am out of ideas, I just dont know what I should do now!

I think you should wait a little bit longer. Sometimes G needs several weeks to deindex these pages. Also make sure you add in your robots.txt the ugly pages (Disallow: uglypage).

Thanks. Michelle, the pages have already been removed from index since I put in requests and they are not searchable anymore! (the actual aka ugly ones)

Use the fetch option, and enter the url to fetch it in google webmaster tools. will indexed in 12 hours.

try to use one of those indexing services like lindexed etc.

Update: I can see one of the friendly pages in Bing! but no where to be found in Google

Sure do! Have put some heavy duty PR6-PR8 through their service and have only seen positive results.

But i dont think it has anything to do with indexing. It just doesnt index that single page, I dont know why! :S Has any of you had problems with indexing your url when url was being rewritten? Why I think that url rewriting could be the issue is because its the only rewritten on the website and the only one that is not getting indexed! Would any of you be interested in looking at it if I pm your the url?

huh! Is there a rule that you cannot put a picture of someone you really like? She is my best friend just to let you know. Anyway, since I may be getting 'extra treatment' in your opinion, I have put my own picture now. I didnt even have a profile picture until last month and I got hundreds of replies to my questions!
