We've all read of the constant shaving of affiliate commissions from Hostgator and people seem to prefer to opt with CJ's $100 per referal for hosting, through them. However, are CJ just the same? Do they like to cut them off, as and when they like, too? If you were planning on going through with the referal method, which would you choose, if either? Are there any of you doing this now and have actually had your payment through either?

Took an idea from one of Netmoney's threads regarding referals and it could be pulled off. However, if they like to shave, the only other option is to go with a reseller, i'd imagine.

Choose CJ if you can't get more than 21+ leads per month.

If you get more than 21 leads per months, then stick with HG. Shaving ratio will stay same anyway. Build relationship with your AM, talk with him about leads being shaved, and with time your account "shaving ratio" will be better and better.

If you getting leads using incentive method then keep all communications between you and hosting buyer. Well... if you smell something burning, contact your AM and show the proofs ( up to date communication and etc. ) If your lead is honestly valid, AM will fix it.

I wonder why you wouldn't want to just host the clients yourself and charge them per month?

Was just looking for people's opinions and experiences with the two. Of course, a reseller is an option.
