Been around in affiliate marketing since more than 5 years and this is what I have learned till date. I haven't learned from anyone, nor do I follow anyone. I tried doing such things by reading other blogs, ebooks etc. but now I believe that every person is different and you need to find a path which will work for you. I am not sharing any methods or tricks... This is just what I feel not everyone shares and comes out just from my experience:
All the Best!
- Spend less time in gaining knowledge and more time on implementing. Spend an hour or 2 max a day to read forums, watch videos etc. There have been days where I wasted entire time on forums, videos, ebooks etc.... It SUCKED!
- Copying others does not help. Something that works for me might not work for you. I have friends whom I explain the exact ways on how I do stuff... still they are not able to earn 5% of what I earn. Reason? I dont know.
- There are alternatives in Internet marketing. Do not give up. If you think your method has stopped working or will stop working then make some changes to your methods or try different alternatives. I was making around $10,000 profit with Google AdWords a day and I thought the journey would end some day... It did... My account got banned. I went to Bing and Yahoo (they were separate then)... things were back... Then they banned my accounts there... I started SEO... email marketing... There are tons of options.. This is a big world of opportunities. Ignore people who say there are limitations and don't ever think that there is an end to this road.
- Experiment!!! Experiment!!! Experiment!!! I have ignored stuff that I was 100% sure that it won't work. Then, I thought lets try it as I have loads of free time... The kind of profits from that ignored stuff has made unbelievable profits for me. This industry is crazy and you can never judge what can make thousands of dollars for you. On the other hand, things I thought would be great have been pathetic. Hence, always try that thing you have in your mind.. You never know what works for you.
- Take Action! We hear it all the time, we know about it but still our To-Do list keeps on growing. I had a tool developed for one of the biggest social platforms but kept on delaying its release. Few months later, the same thing was released by the social networking platform on their website. Got an idea? make sure you implement it asap.
- One thing that almost noone I know would say or believe. Always do the least important tasks first. I know it sounds stupid but this has always worked for me. You have a list of tasks rated as per their importance and you try to complete the most important ones first. What is the result? The less important ones are always pending because they are "not so important". Doing the less important tasks first ensures that I do not hit the bed before I complete "all" my tasks. I won't be able to sleep if my "important" tasks are pending. Not sure about others but this does work for me.
- Another thing which might be different the way I do things. If I have 2 projects released and project A is doing really well, what do I do? I DO NOT work hard on project B... rather than that I work hard on project A. I have always seen that making more money from a successful project is easier as compared to working hard on a project that is not doing well. For eg. If I have 2 websites and website A makes $1000 a day profit while website B makes $200, I will optimize website A more because it will be easy for me to make $2000 and more from it. Making $500 from website B will be difficult. Again, might sound stupid but my experience has always been like this.
- Outsource your tasks. I always thought that if I hire someone, they will copy my stuff and be my competition. I was wrong. Things changed for me dramatically when I started hiring people. I was reluctant to hire my first free lancer who was asking for lot of money. His work was awesome and I did take the so called "risk". Result? My profits shot up like crazy and I had more free time to sleep, have fun and be with my family. Delegating work will always help you... If you haven't done it... try it once.
- Most important, believe in yourself.. consider yourself to be smart and different from others... Only then can the real innovation and "out of the box" ideas will come out. If you blindly follow others, you will have a day when you will be nowhere. No matter what people say or think about you, ignore them and let your brain do that extra exercise everyday. If you have no respect for yourself then you will never get that success.
- Lastly, Exercise regularly, take care of that little liver, have fun and achieve your targets!
All the Best!
