Can I upload the same document on Scribd and slideshare? Will it be considered as duplicate content? I have my website?s link on every pages, it will still pass link right?

I upload the same things on Scribd and Slideshare. I don't plaster them everywhere though and they are only high quality documents. I don't think that it's a problem. Yes, the link will pass.

So long as you don't do overkill it's fine.

Google understands there may be some legitimate reasons for duplicate content.

EXAMPLE: When new your times does a post and many people copy it or portions of it and write summaries, re-post, etc. You don't see NY Times getting penalized for that.

yes the link will pass but make sure do not over work it and you will be sorry...

Don't mean to hijack this.

But does anyone know of some automated tools to submit documents to various sharing sites?

In principle, GSA SER has this option, but I am not sure if it works, though. I usually go for fiverr for document submissions.

Magic Submitter does a fairly good job of this. I believe there are some dedicated tools for this, but don't know how well they work. If you're going to submit the exact same content and description you can use Roboform to speed things up.

Remember the duplicate content penalty is only if you use the duplicate content on your own site not others. If that was the case then all those AP stories that get picked up by all the newspapers would be in major trouble.

Basically, you can spin your titles and meta description to help on those doc sharing sites.
