I have heard a lot about guest blog posting, I want to know how it is done and what are it's benefits?

It can work differently ad hoc, but you really think that there's something more to that than what I wrote?
Don't overthink and overcomplicate things. Try to contact some webmasters in your niche and see for yourself.
There are shittons of threads about guest posting already anyway and the best way to know about that is to try it. So don't sit here all day and spam a few emails. There are also websites dedicated only to guest posting where you can contact webmasters.

it depends upon seller also.

When you submit an article on the other website which is linking to your website with the permission of the admin, it is called guest blogging or guest posting. It is very helpful to get maximum traffic towards your website.

Here's what I do

1) Find a list of blogs that cater to your niche

2) Crawl their blog rolls and list those blogs too

3) Do a batch filter for all the blogs' Page Rank

4) Weed out low or no PR blogs

5) Use urlopener.com to load 30 blogs at a time into your chrome tabs

6) Visit each blog and make sure it is HIGHLY RELEVANT to your niche. Delete irrelevant ones. Get their contact page urls or contact emails.

7) Filter the remaining sites based on ALEXA rank.

8) Contact the blogs with the lowest Alexa ranks first.
