I am doing SEO for a hotel company and they registered the 2 TLDs about 3 months ago. The site is using the country tld .Com.br.
I have noticed that the majority of .com.br domains rank only up to pr3 after some years...

Do you think that we should use the .Com "officialy" for the site and it could rank better and faster?

Any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated!

.com will rank for worldwide searches
.com.br will rank better for Brazil searches

If your business have clients only from Brazil and it depends only from Brazil clients, go for .com.br domains

Hi fferraz. You doing it for a general hotel booking site, or for a specific hotel?

but my main concern is that the .com.br may have a harder limit for ranking, like while it ranks for pr3, the .com can rank more, up to pr5 or pr6... of course we are talking about a loooong term...

Where did you get your information that .com.br can only have pr3?

i didn't get this information. i just said in the OP that I have noticed that the majority of .com.br domains rank only up to pr3 after some years.. based on some research and also from a domain i own that is 3 years old and has pr3.

Common people will never go past the .com they can't wrap their heads around other domain name extensions nor remember them thus the .com will always be the strongest and easiest to remember!
