Is going to college even worth it anymore?

We're competing with people in India from impoverished backgrounds that are more determined to succeed than almost any of their Western peers. Jobs are either being outsourced or automated and 7 out of 10 jobs of being created within the next decade are slated to be minimum wage. I don't think that school is a bad option for most. I'm just a bit leery of getting entangled into debt. Loans are not my thing. ehh. Until I'm ready to pay for college in cash, I'll be sticking with my online business. What are you thoughts and opinions on the subject? After all were all entrepreneurs.

no it's not. that's why i practice with my mop 2-3 hours daily ... but here's another idea ... why go to college when the competition is already there ?!?!?! it's useless! step up your game son! go out on the street! see what the common man needs and what the common man is willing to pay for ... don't try and market yourself to huge companies ... they always look for good and talented people so guess what ... THE COMPETITION IS AT WORK ALSO !!!!

3 years ago when I graduated high school I had plans on going to college to be a veterinarian, but I had just started with internet marketing and was inspired by all the people on Warrior Forum making 100's and 1000's a day. I said screw college for now and I stuck to IM. If things didn't go as planned, I would just go. My parents thought I was dumb for putting it off. Now I'm making about $225 a day and my fiance is making just over $300 a day with IM and our offline business. Now my parents are eating their words Moral of the story, don't EVER give up. If you work hard and are smart with it, you WILL succeed.

It's sad how these poor parents brag about their kids attending xyz University... Their getting a pleasant surprise when it's time to pay up those loans.

I'm not at that point where I can say if it's useless or not, but what I can tell you is that I feel like I'm wasting my time learning things that I don't even need to know. This is why I think about how good celebrities have it. Most of them didn't go to college and are pursing what they love already.

It depends what you are thinking of doing. If you want to be a doctor and save lives while making tons of money, you should go to college. If you want to be a software or compute engineer, you don't need to go to college, but you should-- especially if you live in an area close to big name companies. The opportunities you will be presented with at university events are unparalleled. The people you meet and connections you build that will land you a high paying job in the tech or medical field are what make college worth it. Think about it for a second-- if you live in a prime tech area you can easily land a 90k-130k per year job. And you are wrong about everything being outsourced. Big companies hire huge amounts of local people, and startups ONLY hire local people. If you want to be a programmer, you have 0 problem getting a job at a startup for a good salary and stock options. If you are a doctor, you can make 150k-450k depending on if you specialize in something or not.

yeah ... like Charlie Sheen and Amy Winehouse .... show me one celebrity that's worth the dust under his soles ... people who are mentors in the online biz WENT TO COLLEGE! They dropped out but only because they were making millions already with the shit they learned guess where .. IN COLLEGE!

i dont know about the others, but i personally find college and uni extremely enlighted, i finished my bachelor 1 year ago, and there is one thing that i regret, i regret that i didn't study hard enough, didn't squeeze all the knowledge, didn't ask all the question that i need to ask, now i am in a professional journey, i sometime have to look back and read book again, btw i am in a marketing profession.

College or not, it is just how you implement it, just like IM, knowledge is everywhere, you just can't tell which one is correct or incorrect, there is alway something useful, just that how you twist and use it.

If you are lost, i would highly suggest you to work for 1 or 2 year, when you see what you really need, you pursuit for a academic study, remember, not for the degree but for what you really like and what you really need.

I left my study in between due to "IM" I was only 5teen when I started Internet Marketing but what I think study is necessary but $$$ are more important then study I know a lot of people in my country who are the most powerful people and there are totally illiterate. If you believe on luck and hard work then everything can be yours one day. BTW there is no age for study if you have passion about it.

If you went to college, what would you study?

I was thinking about becoming electrical engineer. I know just a tiny bit of computer code now. If I were to use this skill, I would build my own program that localizes and distributes online advertising data. But, I'm a far way away from that. I'd love to go to college but I really have to think about the commitment I'm going to make before I jump in. I was a pretty poor high school student (didn't apply myself) and it leaves me to wonder if I will bother to apply myself in college. There has to be some type of mission ya know. Like a directive.

I believe that college is overpriced and way too many adults are taking the spots in college these days. When I was 16 years old, I went to my local community college to take a college entrance exam, and guess what? I was one of the only teenagers in there. Nearly everyone else was in their 30 years old, and I could have sworn that I saw an octogenarian in there taking the test in the corner of the room. I've never had any real desire to go to college since I've always found autodidacticism as something that I can be proud of, but that doesn't mean going to college would be a waste of time for you. If having an instructor is the best way for you to learn, or if you believe that you'll get competitive grades, then by all means you should definitely go for it. But don't let the competition deter you away from a dream.
