Question to the US JV guys.

This is a question for all the US guys that run JVs with non-US. (Tom, get in here ) What was your experience with JVing? What problems have you encountered? What is the average % you take? Do you run their articles through copyscape before submitting? If not, aren't you risking having your account flagged by multiple articles bouncing? How do you treat the performance payment...ummm...rights? Do you only split the upfront payments, and any performance payments you get later are yours?

Sorry for all the questions. I'm starting to concentrate on some bigger projects, and I'm considering JVing with a non-US partner. I'm hesitant though. It seems a lot of people think they can submit shit articles and get away with it, and I don't want to lose my account.

Any tips?

I am a non-US member of AC and I have not JV with other US-member AC. The reason is that if I JV with them they take a large cut to my AC commissions. I realize that I am still a newbie with AC, I outsource my article rewriting to someone at $60 per 100 articles. I know from experience that I would earn only $2.5-$3.5 per articles these day on AC. Here is my calculation: 100 x $3 = $300 in commission minus around $30 in tax = $270 you then split it 50:50 to your US JV partner = $135 then minus $0.05 x 100 articles to make sure they pass copyscape = $130 then minus $60 to my rewriter = $70 So according to my calculation, the earning I would be making by JVing would be $70 per 100 articles. Correct me if I'm wrong but this is chicken feed. Worse if you have a rewriter with bad spelling and bad grammar. You will get $70 via JV MINUS the price of your time. So my conclusion is that, I would still not JVing. I would rather continue earning AC money UNTIL I earn enough to incorporate a LLC then I would have my own US Tax ID via LLC. As long as the articles passed copyscape I would be OK and making more money than doing JV. Just my 2 cents. Please tell me if I have mistake in my calculation. You told me in one of your post to JV but I still could not find the logic. Best Regards to all the BHW members... you have been much of a help to me.

Oh yes, I forgot to mention that by JV, your partner get $135 and you only get $70. If you don't JVing you get $240 You just have to make sure, you get the phone activated account. This is the tricky part. I am an Indonesian and I got the phone activated account. Regards

So far my experience has been pretty bland. I have discussed the opportunity with many members here who have sounded excited and after agreeing to the terms of our partnership usually state they will send articles over in 1-2 days.

Out of those who have agreed to the partnership, only one person has actually sent any articles...

So in my experience so far, I believe many people read and talk good ideas, but no one actually does the work.

@tom I do not oppose to the idea of JVing, I just think that as an AC article submitter I need to get a better cut. My suggestion is that the US partner supply their copyscape and does the proofreading and simple editing. The non-US partner supply the articles and outsource the rewriting. This would help immensely to the non-US partner since even if the non-US partner get less of the cut, they don't need to do the proof-reading and editing the mistakes. My experience with a freelance writer has been bad. I have been working with 3-5 different freelancer and either their spelling sucks or they use a very hard to understand English. Hopefully, you understand my situation.

@leonidt Believe it or not, the reason behind why I thought into going JVing is you. I read your thread that you still make money from AC and you advised us to go to JV. I made the calculation and it just does not make sense. I almost give up doing AC but after I read your thread the other day when you said that money can still be made, I got pumped up. I decided to make money from AC, JV or not JVing. I need to make sure I don't give up so easily. So thanks very much leonidt, you get me going again.

I do not oppose to JVing either. I just started doing JV on AC with a couple of people here, and so far the communication has been ok. You can always start off with a few articles first to see the response of your partner and also of AC.

I wonder, would people be interested in a JV where you get 100% of the upfront payment, but I get rights to the performance payments?

that sounds quite hood. Are you US or non US.
If you are US and will accept only the performance payments I will be more than willing to enter a JV with you.
