How many anchor text variations should I include in a strong campaign?

Also, should I include phrases like "click here" or "website" or just variations of my keyword?

Also should I ever directly mention the direct keyword? I havent seen that happen very often....

REP = -37 OMG

That means you should search the forum before asking. All this information is already posted everywhere.

Use this on Google:

Site:blackhatworld.com your question here

As many as you can possibly think of. The more you have, the safer and more sound your campaign will be. Your list of related keywords should be immense.

As far as "click here" generic anchor text, yes, use them for about 15-25 percent of your anchor link profile.

thanks. Would it be a good idea to use generic anchor text on the lower quality links, and use the quality anchors on quality links?

Yes, lower tier should have more generic anchors whereas higher tiers should be using relevant synonyms.

But like TrevorB said, use the search function because there are some great posts already out there that will answer this question of yours in a detailed manner.

Yes I will be doing that I don't want to get a lower rep then I already have

But one more question. In a bigger link building campaign, whats an approximate number of variations I should use?

To be honest, it all depends on the strength of your site. Me for instance, I have ranked some of my fiverr gigs to number 1 using ONLY exact keywords, and no "click here" type of keywords.

All sites are different to be honest.

Well, what I was thinking was to just give everything ultra diversity. I made a 5 page strategy for a client, who lost previous rankings. Im not sure what to do with it but if any of you can suggest any tweaks please let me know. http://bosshoster.com/seo.rtf

Thats in Microsoft word format and I usually don't put a strategy down on paper, I usually just linkbuild and am careful about everything. Oh and by the way, thanks for the rep, I really need it :P

First and foremost, TOTALLY FORGET about backlinks right now. The first thing you want to focus on is the On-Page SEO. Get that right, ping the site so Google re-visits it, give it at the minimum 2 weeks for Google to change it's rankings for the site and see if it went up or down.

After the on-page SEO is 100%, then you can check the current backlink profile of the site and adjust your link project from that.

I have ranked MANY clients websites with just on-page SEO only. I mean like taking them from not in the top 100, to top 3 page 1 in Google. Do NOT underestimate the power on your on-page SEO. This game is all done in stages.

I'll try what you said. Thanks.

Sorry to ask something thats really obvious to all of you again, but if your domain was for example, bosswebhosting.com, and most of your anchor text was "Boss Web Hosting", would google know you're referring to your company name instead of web hosting services?

^ Yes. And you should also use BossWebHosting, BossWeb Hosting, Boss WebHosting, etc. to diversify as much as possible. The more diversity, the better.

You should use AS MANY anchor text variations as you can put. The more the better.

Definitely include phrases like click here, read more, website name etc etc.

If possible, also use different text variations. for example

websitename.com
http://websitename.com

The idea is that you should try and make it look as natural as possible so you don't raise any alarm bells.

Use as many different anchor text variations you can think of.....also I would advise using at least 70% naked url. Before starting a back linking campaign, you should concentrate on "on-page" SEO. Another great factor to incorporate is interlinking of related articles. Link, link, link to all of your related articles.

Personally I suggest 10 anchor text. 3 or 4 money medium volume keywords (3,000 or more monthly searches), and 6 or 7 low volume EASY keywords (3,000 or less monthly searches). Good luck OP. Keep us updated on your progress.

I created an anchor text generator here: advanced-article-spinning.com/spin.aspx

There's also a free image and video spinner

I may charge for it soon but if you email me and give me feedback on it i will add you for life.

Thanks and enjoy
