The general answer which most people don't want to get is to keep reading. Start a blog and do some testing. For example a wordpress blog and blogger blog. Then make some changes and see what gets results and what doesnt.

Read the Art of Seo 2nd edition by Rand Fishkin. You'll finish the book an expert.

3. set up theme, put content daily
4. process link building.
