Of course it is on 1st place 1st page. You are searching for the exact thread title. As its a unique KW and nobody is searching/targeting that, this thread is on 1st page.

The main KW of this thread is "302 redirect". Just search that and this thread is nowhere to be found.

It was not supposed to rank, this is a quirk that happens with the technique sometimes.

Google shows it is first in SERP, but domain in Google is now redirected to other domain with just few words and offers.

Re the text shown: was it just an ordinary page, or did it flash up for awhile then redirect?

In the serps, you're saying that the title & desc were cloned off the target site? Or did he use his own?

Did not flash up. He use his own. First he 302 redirect to front page of wikipedia, then he ranks and change redirect to his offer page.

Can you elaborate why you think it was just a quirk? He have now 3 domains sitting at the top (and probably in other niches too) and previously had at least two other. I don't see this being accident.

It can happen when switching 301s around. One of the 301s will bounce up to the top 10 in Google for a few days.

Weird, been trying to do some 301s and these 302s today and neither are working, or one in 5 are. Is it just my host?

Now this same guy is ranking for 3 different sites to TOP3 for 74k exact payday loan niche keyword - and many other great keywords. I just can't tell how he does that, if anyone else is willing to analyse and share the results I can PM you the site.

OP, I think you should look at his link profile, the day after he created his domain, he got a ton of backlinks , so I doubt its the 302 redirect giving him the rankings.

Then why would the guy do it if there were no benefit to doing it? Also it does not explain why someone else in the thread saw a Serp boost when they did it.

ye, that kinda doesnt make sense to me either, im not sure how just redirecting a site to another can make the redirected site overtake the higher position site, but like someone mentioned, there is a ton of links coming in to the domains (just after registration or doing the redirect?), maybe he is using a 301/subdomain redirect method to the site he is then 302ing to the authority site? i havent seen the site so am only guessing here, but it is interesting, so if anyone genuinely looked at it, please post back some further info

good tip on 302 redirects, i've been tresting .301's with mixed results aswell, seems like a bit risky, i think unrelated annd too much keyword variation you get with 301 actually can hurt your sites sometimes
