How are ebay sellers getting away with selling obvious replicas? Especially when they are using the brand names and logos.

**This is not a thread promoting the sale of bootlegs as it only hurts my own ebay business. But wondering how the competition gets away with it.**

You can play it relatively safe and go under the radar.
When selling high-risk items like brand-name items, jerseys, etc, make sure you don't sell frequently. One different item of each kind every 10 days worked for me until I had approximately 35 feedback, then I increased the frequency to one every 7 days, and when I felt comfortable to go to every 6 days I did.
If you think you're selling too frequently, you probably are.
Also, marking an item as used, but like-new will help. Open box, small cosmetic blemishes, etc... this will all help you go under the radar. Selling brand-name items as 'new' every day will slap a big target on your account and the ban hammer will soon follow.

I'm not even close to an eBay expert, though. This worked for me, but I don't/didn't sell enough to be able to test this on a greater scale that might yield more representative results.

Thanks for the response. I see certain sellers that are selling an item as new with 1 buy it now auction selling sometimes around 10 a day. I thought for certain this would put up a red flag as this would put between 150 and 250 in their paypal accounts per day. And that's just with 1 auction. Some of these guys that I see have a few buy it now auctions going with them all doing well.

Send me the links and I can tell you what I think about the items .. and how they are managing it..

Sorry I wont post someone elses auction but I'm sure you can find some very easily if you know how it works.

Like Art said, you have issues with scaling when you're trying to do something like this and because of that its probably not worth the effort. When it comes to making real money you need economies of scale, and if you can't scale what is the point? Sure, maybe you could make enough money to buy yourself some ice cream on the weekend but I think most people have goals larger than that.

Stay legit, it is always more profitable anyway.

That's exactly why I would never do it but it shows me why companies want to stop a lot of sales from happening online that affect their sales in such a huge way.
