Dropbox: Maxing out referral space(+16GB)

So I use dropbox almost religiously and it just seems wrong not to share this method with you. (Let me know whether or not there is another post covering this, I couldn't find one)

What you need:
-Virtualbox (or some other virtual machine client)
-Ubuntu (or another OS)

Process:

1. Download and install Virtualbox (the extension pack is not necessary but it's nice )
2. Download the Ubuntu disk image
3. Open Virtualbox and create a virtual machine
4. configure the OS for Ubuntu
5. Click the settings for the machine and set the virtual disk drive to the location of your Ubuntu disk image
6. Start the virtual machine
7. On the virtual machine, download and install dropbox
8. Open dropbox but do not sign in.
9. Save the current machine state in the machine tab on the top of the machine
10. Close the virtual machine, make sure the "revert to saved state" box is checked
11. Create as many dropbox accounts as you need with your referral link. You do not need multiple computers for this. Each one will give you 500MB (Pm me for an imacros script that will create all of these accounts for you )
12. open your virtual machine and sign in with your first account. This is the first completed referral.
13. close the virtual machine, again, reverting to the saved state.
14. repeat for all referral accounts ( you only need one virtual machine for all of this)

I use dropbox because of its mobile UI, but storage wise, it is admittedly weaker than other services

Exactly dropbox have mobile application to access your data from mobile. That's why people prefer it on others that may have more space for free as compare to dropbox. I am also using dropbox and very happy with this.

Yes, but the free space is only free for 1 year

I just bought a 2 Tb drive connected to my network i can access remotely anywhere .
Mega offer 50GB if I need to share something private i'll encrypt it and share it via mega. dropbox already admitted they snoop on data
