I've been selling on Fiverr for a year and a half now and have made hundreds through it selling various types of services. Most people overlook Fiverr because you only get $4 per sale (Fiverr take 20%) but there are people who make thousands every month from Fiverr and make a full time living off of it. I struggled when I first joined Fiverr and just wanted to share some tips to anyone considering Fiverr or struggling to make sales like I did.

1. Don't wait for people to come to you
Fiverr ranks your gigs for you in their search engine but it doesn't mean that everyone will suddenly find your gig. I made the mistake of not promoting my gigs and I never got any sales. Go to forums in the niche of the service you are selling and promote it there, or even on the Fiverr seller forum. You can also promote it on social media groups related to the service too like Facebook fan pages.

2. Overdeliver
Make sure to always overdeliver. Example: If you say you're giving away 50 backlinks, give away 60. This will lead to outstanding reviews on your gig, and will make people want to buy your service again or recommend you to a friend.

3.Get people to return
Around 35% of my earnings come from returning customers. This comes from overdelivering and giving them more than promised after they have ordered some gigs. I underestimated how much money returning customers can bring in at first, so make sure you get people to keep coming back!

4. Take advantages of gig extra
Once you get lots of orders as a seller and level up, you can offer gig extra's. These are great for earning more money per gig and even encouraging people to buy. I like to have one saying for an extra $5 I will do x1.5 what the current gig offers. I've had good success with this.

5. Make an appealing picture and description
I've experimented a lot with different picture and video thumbnails to maximize conversions, and it really is trial and error. Having an appealing picture is key to attracting attention and getting sales. Make it stand out, bright and related to the service you are offering.

These are just some important tips I've picked up that I thought I'd share with everyone here to help people out.

If you have any questions about Fiverr, I'd be happy to answer them! :)

Pretty decent input which shows that if you provide with quality services, you get returning customers. 35% is a good one. keep it up.

thanks for the tips. where can we advertise the gigs , which forums, websites?

OP, thanks for the useful information. I have been frustrated about fiverr. I don't knw what to sell or offer anymore. Yet, I want to know any niche that I can embark on to sell or offer. I will be grateful, if you or any member can help me out with fiverr, I want to start generating money. I am open to learning. Pls, you can also PM if you want to... Any help for what I can start selling on Fiverr???

6. Lure the returning customers out of fiverr and have over $100 paid directly to your PayPal from one customer, like I did.

I am also desperate to know how to find my way in fivver. I have never won any gig despite my top notch article writing services. I have even started to doubt myself and my competence. Please advice on how to advertise etc! Thanks for the useful tips... so handy and have restored back my faith in fivver.com! Had given up!

On any forum that is related to the service you are selling. Example:

If I sold photoshop services, I would go to photography forums where I would offer to edit amateur photographers photographs and direct them to my Fiverr gig.

There will always be something you can sell. Start by asking yourself what are you good at and what do you like doing. You could even offer advice or tips for something you are good at. Or try learn the basics of a program.

I usually just get them to order a set amount of the gig, there is a risk of getting your account banned doing this.

It's easy to make money on fiverr...you need to know what people want to buy and
you need good feedback because reviews sell gigs

My suggestion is to first do gigs that are popular enough to get you to level 2, from there you can add different varieties of gigs, different pricing, and all of them will carry more weight because of your L2 status. Advertise your first gigs on related forums, blogs, article directories and guest posts, etc to get your order volume up, don't rely on Fivver's internal system to promote for you.

I was about to give-up on fiverr but your tip gig extra seems useful, Thanks for sharing mate.

I am on fiverr almost 2 years and before everyday I day I got one or two order. But from January I don't get much order on fiverr I don't know why it is happening. Can you tell me what should I do to get order.

i got a PM ON fiverr one of my video testimonial gigs asking if i would be interested in doing "crazy" gigs for money . i was like yeah sure as long as you pay me, he ordered 6 of my gigs for me to crack eggs in my shoes. that was then, since then i have made an out of fiverr relationship with him, in the last 3 months he has sent around 700€ to my paypal for doing random stuff such as jumping in rivers, putting ice in my pants. he is a 24 year old german banker, hes mental but i'm not complaining. all this happened because i had a video testimonial gig on fiverr :D
