Hi,

I`m trying to sell used cell phones on ebay.

I have a lot,I can move a couple thousands worth of them in september. I got them in a purely whitehat way (I made sure there was no stolen or broken stuff)

My main concerns are: if they see a brand new account move this much sales, will I get banned?

What can I do to prevent `'friendly' fraud (buyer claiming he never received an item and opens a dispute)?

I also do not want to maintain a balance in my paypal account, if I get the money out of it often ( say bi-weekly), will they flag me? It is fairly old (maybe 2-3 years old) but I've done like 1 transaction on it and that`s it.

How do I build up a brand new account? or is it better to buy an old one?

No you will not get banned, if worse comes to worse you will recieve a MC999 which is a account restriction where they personally review your account
If they see you are sell a ton of these phones they will most likely ask you where your getting them from, and since its truly whitehat just be honest
with them. If worse comes to worse they will ask for to you so send an invoice of your supplier.

You need to provide tracking number with your packages to prevent this from happening, there are some great softwares out there that offer prepaid shipping and tracking number included. Look into a company call endicia, I personally use them for my ebay shipping. I use USPS, which would be the best price to go with. This will give you evidence that the buyer
recieved his package. If you want to be really serious and be 100% sure you would need to get signature confirmation as well which is alittle extra, but the tracking number should be fine.

Since this is whitehat, try to have your account fully verified. This will help you alot and will prevent limitations to happen. Although there will always be a small chance. You really have nothing to worry about. If paypal limits your account you can always easily provide them any information needed since you are truly the owner.

Honestly if you are moving thousands of items, and products they are going to restrict your account and not let you sell. They are then going to ask you to send in a invoice for the products, and how you got them. If that invoice doesn't check out TO THEM then your account is TOAST. Even if you got all your phones, and stuff white hat, doesn't matter. If something doesn't match up to them then your account is gone. I can see this happening right now if you do this much volume. I've seen happen way to many times.

There are steps that you can take. One of the them is to add tracking, but honestly that isn't going to be 100% full proof. They can just send the box back to you with no phone, or something else that has the same weight. You are going to have some type of refund rate, and I go ahead and add cases like this in my excel sheet of refund/lost product. The thing is to keep your profit margin high enough to where it doesn't effect your business to much. I like to keep lost down to 5% ... but just know your going to have it..just part of the business..

Out of my 9 stealth accounts, I actually take my money out BI-WEEKLY, I also waited until my account was 90 days old, and the restriction (21 day hold) is off my account. I don't think your even taking this into account. If you start moving large amounts of money (over $400) right after the money is there, it is going to send a HUGE RED FLAG yes.. And was is worst then having a eBay account limited...a PayPal account..and that is what will happen!

Yes. I promise! I wouldn't just tell him/her not to do this! People that have legit paper work still get banned. Like if his paper work isnt from a LIC. Rep for the company, eBay wont except it. Just open stealth accounts and spread the sales!

I sort of see some kinda rivalry developing here in the Ebay forum among EbayUltimate and eBayStealths.
In this case precisely, I would go with EbdayUltimate. If everything is genuine, you don't have to worry about the volumes or bi-weekly withdrawals. All the best!

No rivalry just for some reason, this person likes to make arguements and trys to make everyone look bad on every thread for no reason. You should see all the other threads, its pathetic to be honest.

Ebay and VERO are not intersting in those who sell USED vero item !
When it's USED you dont need to prove anything to ebay, it's your right to sell your used phone !
Vero is made for those who sell NEW brand name items.

So stop mislead people (and if you will tell me to go and sell and come back after my account is banned - I'm selling used vero stuff for 2 years now and nothing happend)

I never had an invoice for any of the phones I sold and I'm doing fine...

If you take an account with 50 past sales in a 30 day time span, about 100 positive feedback and no negatives, and then you list 100 used cells phones the next month (non-iPhone) - you will most likely be hit a systematic limitation (mc999) and then you will probably be able to move past it with a phone call (verification) and a verified eBay and PayPal account.

Both ebay newbies here are out for one thing. To lure you to their websites or sell you an ebook. Both have some knowledge but seem to find it hard to answer the tough questions.
I believe one is re selling account from another person who makes them for him. The other, well trying to sell an ebook on ebay with only 2 years experience wont help anyone.

Avoid them both as they both cannot answer to tough questions and are only here to make you believe they want to help and on the otherr hand dip into your pocket.

No, They are NOT allow your to sale that much on new account even you confirmed your personal ID and raise your limit to 100/5000 (100 items and $5,000 max) because your items (used cell phone is a very high risk items)

List exactly what you have in details with clear pictures. Answer all the question promptly, ship on time and quick. Polite when buyer is angry.

Tough question and the answer is different for all the accounts and there is no guarantee that what Paypal will do to your account when they see money moving too much or too fast.

Once you know and understand how ebay/paypal work, new or old account doesn't matter anymore

I would not focus on the problems but just try to sell as much as possible and deal with the problems as they come.

Used or new ebay does not like a new account to start off selling cell phone or cell phone accessories. Sell other times for the first month and then slide in some of your phones. In fact, do this on several accounts so you can sell more faster as you seem to have a good stock.
