Hey guys,
I'm new to all this internet stuff. I knew about making money online probably from many years but never had the desire or time to learn new things. Few months back I started to take it more seriously and by doing lot of search I found this forum. I have been reading these forums from last 2 months. Found lot of valuable information and was amazed how everybody is willing to help each other especially guys like me who are still figuring ways to make money.
I have bought few domains recently and placed them on sale at top domain selling websites. But in truth I have no idea what it is worth? I have read other posts and believe that a domain is only worth the price a potential buyer is willing to pay for it. But still I would like to know what is the minimum it can go for??
1. Any ideas how to calculate minimum would be greatly appreciated. I have tried free domain appraisals done by bots etc. How much can you trust there appraisal value? Also different sites have different appraisals which I believe is because they have different way of appraising them.
2.I would also like to know how much does keyword exact search or cpc on a particular domain effects its value. Is there any relation between keywords and CPC when done on google keyword planner? Is one better than another OR is there an rule of thumb to calculate those. I mean if one keyword is showing CPC of 50 cents where as another shows 1 dollar etc? does it mean latter is better than the former.?
I have seen some of the latest domains being sold last week and found out most of them do had high cpc? although keywords were high for most of them but some of them had only 50 and yet went for 3000 bucks.
3. As I have written above I know sale price depends on how much somebody is willing to pay for it. For one guy it might be worthless and other might be willing to pay 500 for it. Are there any methods to find out domain names which generally have more value than you actually bought it for?
4 I would like you guys opinion how to actually sell those domains. I mean just placing them on auction websites doesn't necessarily means you will get top dollar for your domain. How can one promote his domain and get the best value for it or is it a good idea to contact the potential buyers directly? If yes, how to actually find them
5. I have read people saying older domains sell for more. Would like an explanations how? Why would a domain which is 3 years old better than a month old one? Or 10 yrs older domain better than 5 year one?
Would like your sound opinion on this guys. If everybody can please answer them in the same number format as I asked them, it would be greatly appreciated. I think it gets easy to read for everyone. KEEP ROCKING!!
