If you made a purchase you are buying real country targeted visitors, but they are not category targeted. You can trace the ips back to different parts of the USA and World and those isps are from various internet providers.
What Jon99 addressed is that this traffic that is not category targeted is that you need geeneric CPC or CPM ads to make money. When you use CPA the results are really sub par as you can view in adworksmedia screenshot. Other than that the dynamics of the traffic make your site Google Analytic look delicious for advertisers, investors, and marketers.
If you want to make money with the traffic target high cpc and high advertiser keywords with Spyfu or another good site, write up some awesome content, and then push the traffic with ads in the Google hotspot zones for clicks. You will make money, but the amount you make depends on the quality of your site, your content, and also the keywords you targeted.
I really didn't want to open up a thread and preach / present results about MY tests because I would like I'm spouting some churned up promotional. The traffic works for various sites like epicgameads, chitika, adversal, Yashi, Spotxchange, Media.net (they like to ban ppl for no reason like Adsense), infolinks, all the way up to reselling the traffic yourself or using it for your seo service.
The main problem is people got stuck on 2 ad networks because of fear and a lack of imagination. What stops them from making a arcade site and pumping the traffic through it to earn via game ads? What stops people from throwing up high quality videos on their site through a video player and earning per video view? What stops someone from making a SEO service and pounding out small traffic through Google to make it look like the seo is creating traffic and results? What is wrong with contacting advertisers in the insurance niche and enticing them to make offers for the adspace on your blog? What is wrong with creating you own ad network and pump the traffic through it?
All that requires a brain and time. For you I suggested some awesome things, don't worry about saturation as every campaign is different. If you want sales traffic OF COURSE the CPM is going to be higher. If a click costs you $0.40 and it is keyword targeted your ecpm should be around $400 for 1k. That is using Google Adwords and having that high quality traffic. Not every visitor will convert, so you end up with a 30% conversion rate of those 1,000 interested people. In most niches small fries aren't going to seem more than 10% conversion rate because the lack of sales copy and execution of timing. You can decide whether to use EV to help you make short term money, or use EV as a stepping stone into long term money!
