$1 a day from a blog

Hi there,

I've set up quite a few autoblogs over the last two months or so but have extreme difficulty making $1 a day from them due to a lack of traffic and poor CPC.

What I would like some advice on is the most important factors when creating an autoblog so that I can generally make $1 a day from it. How important are the following factors:

Niche choice (broad or specific niche)
Keyword optimisation
Value of ads (high paying Adsense etc)

Also, what are the best ways of generating traffic to autoblogs for minimum effort and maximum effect? RSS submissions, directories?

Any pointers in starting/developing a blog that can consistently generate $1 a day would be fantastic as I'm really pulling my hair out with this one...

I personally think that there isn't one particular most outstanding important thing that will make or break an auto blog. I wouldn't try to separate the tasks of market research, keyword research, etc. and see which one is most 'important'.

They're all important.

In fact, I like to think of it as one important process and sure I like and hate some tasks over others. But that's how I look at it.

If you did all the research parts right, then gaining traffic will be easier. For example, if you're noticing that an ezine article comes up under your keyword #3 on Google then that's a good indicator that article marketing is something you should do. Same thing if you see a hub or lens show up with those kind of placement. Make one too. And so on if it's News - Press Release etc etc.

The trick is just finding what is working for your competition, mimicking it, then doing it 5% better. Can't remember where I read that, but it seems to work.

Now when it comes to auto blogs, the less work the better right? So it's all about the process vs the most important aspect in my opinion. You can get a lot of tools from here to help make the process more efficient which are in a few threads that are very, very detailed.

The trick with autoblogs is traffic. Now I'm new to this (I have old autoblogs but they have static main pages promoting CB items and are heavily promoted). What I found now is to target a long tail keyword with each blog, few backlinks and move on. I've been doing this for about 5 days now at 1-5 blogs a day, one of my blogs is already a $1 a day but the rest are closer to about $.30 a day. Either way they are set and forget, I do the setup and then about 25 mins of link building on each one and move on. It seems to me that keyword research is the most important thing, you need a long tail that you can rank well for with little work in order to get the traffic.

you certainly can. I was running a blogger blog one year ago where I posted rewritten news stories. I didn't do any link building, but my blog was often ranking better than reuters or yahoo when people were searching for the specific news stories. The link power lasted a few days for each story before Google put my stories to their appropriate place in their rankings.

Blogspot allows you to setup an autopost email address. You can run a script on a server which scrapes rss feeds and sends them by email to your blog.

can't even make it $1 dollar a day?... i've been in blogger.com since 2005, got abt 29 blogs but I still didnt get my 1st checks ..until now i only make $7.95. So if u think not getting $1 a day is a problem, I have quit using adsense many years ago. But i still never give up.

So you're basically looking for solid long tail keywords that perhaps generate a fairly small number of searches (50 a day or so) but with hardly any competition?

I would do articles, make comments, plug it on the social sites-digg, etc., submit to directories. Cars is very competitive. You need links and also look at your page and make sure you have it seo optimized. Do you have the platinum seo plug in installed. If not I would do that first. Also keep new content going up.

i don't think so....i setup an auto blog and in 4 days it started makin 1$/day.....and i made it on a shitty free host.....now i will buy a few domains/hosting and put this to work officially as when i tested i got great results.

What are you talking about...how can an 'auto blog' market get saturated?

As long as someone is buying something online, there's probably an auto blog that could be made for it.
