many experts say that for seo i will need good backlinks to increase my pr.

but i have seen many tumbler blogs with high pr and 0 backlinks.

how is it possible??

This has been covered time and time again. Just because you can't see the backlinks on ahrefs etc doesn't mean they do not exist. They could simply just be blocking the crawlers from finding the backlinks using .htaccess

but i not think that people will try to increase pr of site they not own and there are no backlinks in google , aherfs.
with .htaccess you can block tools from showing outbound links from your site not links coming from other sites.
lol there is no htaccess feature in tumbler

Check them with multiple sources. Ahrefs won't report backlinks on some of my Tumblr blogs, but MajesticSEO will. You can't have PR without backlinks. Period.

I'm probably not the best person to explain this, but I'll try quickly:

Backlinks are crawled by finding links to your site, so the crawlers would be blocked at that level. An Example:

Money site <-- Old domain hosted with good .htaccess rules <-- backlinks

It doesn't matter what you block at the money site, bots can't magically connect to your money site and find out what your linking strategy is. The magic happens when bots try to crawl the old domain, they get blocked and therefore think the link is broken. Do you understand now?

Yes, SEO experts completely right. Here is the thing is, - every webpage has it's own PR ( from 0 up to 10 ). When you are placing a link on some webpage and that link is being ********, then that webpage is starting to pass it's own PR weight to your webpage, so exactly in this way you are increasing PR of your site. It's a gradual process, basically if you build one PR 3 link it can pass up to 6 months until full PR weight of that link will pass to your webpage. Now about those blogs what you've been seen with high PR and 0 backlinks: First of all perhaps they don't have high PR and it's simply a fake and you just used a wrong tool to check their Page Rank, or probably you just again used a wrong tool to check amount of their backlinks. If those sites really have high PR then it's simply impossible that they have 0 backlinks, Google doesn't work this way. I strngly recommend you to visit this website and red their articles, you will find there a lot of interesting info about it.

yupz ahref didn't show tumblr blogs backlinks i have 3 x pr 2 but when i check backlinks it shows 0. But my blog PR is real.

Simple answer: They built backlinks to another domain/site and did a 301 to their tumblr blog. Question answered. End of thread (hopefully)

Asides from a 301 and blocked backlinks, the high ranking could also be attributable to social media shares. Search for 'count social media shares' and one of those sites will give you the social data. I believe ahrefs also does but only with the Pro plan
