Nothing new, maybe they finally came out and said what everyone already knew. Of course there are many places like that which have to keep things a secret. Take plant 42 for example:

They developed the SR-71 Blackbird - imagine what people would have thought if they saw that in the 60's - it probably looked like an alien craft as well. Plus the secrecy behind these projects just help the conspiracy theories.

Right.. I have been in sales for 20 years so when somebody is giving a pitch I know. These conspiracy shows are selling books etc... A tech product rep once said.."All of our technology is modified Alien equipment" ...That's Entertainment!

i was just telling the obvious to me.
i have no intention to make war posts or anger, and feel free to neg rep me.
any way i apology if i offended anybody, i came here for IM and to help and get help from people

I believe in the hybrid "X-files/Stargate" theory, that 51 is both a HQ for genuine UFO artifacts, and experimental military research. The truth may be that they are developing experimental craft, via backward engineering alien technology. Since the base controls info in an extremely tight manner, it's hard to verify either position, or the combo view, in any event.

On the other hand, I believe the opposite. I don't believe an advanced alien race would allow advanced technology into human hands. I think much of the Project Bluebook was in part to persuade the Soviets of the possibility that there WERE aliens, and they were on our side. And we were getting special help from the aliens to advance our military technology. And part of the program was to send the Soviets into wild goose chases, while the REAL advances were taking place. Such as stealth technology, rigging the entire ocean floor with microphones, getting spy satellites into space, and GPS technology. I think the Plasma ray-gun and several other programs were "fluffed" in order to try to lure the Soviets into investing time & money into programs that were known to be dead-ends, so that the US could achieve ascendency in other areas. I don't know how successful it was, in comparison to what the Soviets were trying to do to us.
But I think much of the pro-alien beliefs today are remnants of the program to convince people, and the Soviets and misdirect their attention away from other areas. Certainly much of the "hippie" counter-culture are remnants of the Soviet program to destabilize the United States from within, by using the war in Vietnam, and other issues to divide americans and create dissension. I find it laughable that there are still hippies today; stupid robots programmed by a state that has now collapsed, and yet they are still walking around wearing tie-dyed shirts and giving people the peace sign, roflmao. All I am saying, is give peace a chance. War is bad for children, and other living things, and money can't buy you love, and Peace will happen when everybody wants it. Also, my favorite, "Make love, not war." Okay gotta go. I'm due for my AIDS test...
