Is Creating a Legitimate Site the Way to Go?

I've been online for quite awhile, I actually started 3 years ago when I created a website (the niche was basketball, wasn't too profitable), and I slowly loss passion for the website and it fell off. Every summer (I'm a student) I spent an enormous amount of time hopping from method to method, weeks at a time, until I feel it's heading nowhere and I drop the method.

My last method was creating a website that looks like a popular video streaming site, which can really fool most viewers, and when one went to go stream the video I had a content locker pop up. I spent quite a long time designing it and I learned a lot but I am in a dead end as far as driving traffic to it as I don't really have the money to pay for services, or softwares such as bots. I think I had a break through today that maybe if I had spent all these hours I put into creating these scheming projects into creating an authority site in a certain niche, and with the combination of adsense, email and affiliate marketing, I would have a steady source of income.

I want to earn a modest $100/day by next June, as I will be entering university next year and would like a way to not put debt on myself. Is this goal achievable if I spent the next 2 weeks setting a website up, and then about an hour a day give or take, adding more content and optimizing for an entire year?

Find a subject that you love to talk about, write about, and discuss...that will make it 100% easier. It will also result in great content that people will want to read. They will then start to visit often. Then they will share your posts across social media. Then their friends with similar interests will start to read. Then they will opt in for offers. See where this is going...

Look at the most popular blogs and the success stories...they all started them because they had a legit interest in the topic....they didn't start it to make money. That comes after.

Some people have better luck creating quick cash websites and some people have better luck creating legitimate websites. Both ways involves a lot of work. I think even if you find a topic that you love it's still going to feel like work. Since you haven't done the legitimate website yet you might as try that and see if that works better. I've done both and have yet to see any return from illegitimate websites created for quick cash. My only suggestion is that when you find a topic make sure you have a couple of affiliate products that you can promote for $30 in profit. Make sure also that the product is in high demand. Now this isn't something that's going to happen overnight because like you had mentioned you don't have any money to put into buying back links and SEO so you're going to have to do it all by yourself.

I have created a legitimate site before and I know its a lot of work, that's what kind of turned me on to the idea of quick cash ideas. Little did I know that it would almost be the exact same amount of work yet a legitimate site could end up being more profitable in the long term. I know all about SEO on page and a bit off page, but I'm not sure how things have changed, any one can recommend any good guides to read up?

I am very interested in self improvement, I wouldn't consider myself a self help junkie just yet though lol. I'm just interested in how to become more productive, successful, attractive and I've absorbed a lot of material which I think I can use to create a niche site within self help. I'll have to figure out what the niche will be but I'm almost sure it'll be within this field, if anyone has any ideas that wouldn't have too much competition it would be great.

Btw, would a website targetting students and teens, who are looking to become better at school and at life in general be profitable. I can't imagine there's too much competition within a niche like this, but how can I convert the traffic. Anyway, I would have to do my own research but any suggestions or ideas would help, thanks

Getting better at school and at life in general is what teens need, but it's not what teens want. People generally want the results/benefits without the work/pain. After all, 95% of the weight loss sites would not exist if they could only say "eat properly and exercise." So you could get more interest if you promised ways to cheat and/or ways to get the same result much faster and/or color-by-numbers ways to get fantastic success (what people want).

Your site should provide value content to its users or readers. So if you are updating the site often (2-3 times per week) with good information on things, such as trends or news, people would appreciate it.

All your success solely depends on what you offer and how you present the offer to your prospects. Most people on here have weak sales copy because they spend little to no time examining their prospects. Once you learn about your buyers you can play on their emotions to buy from you. Follow up the purchase with a quality product or service that reinforces their emotions to buy and you will get repeat sales.

So on to your fantasy about self help. You can target people "wanting" to have more friends, a better job, or even a better sex life. The psychology principles used for creating a sale are used in dating, job hunting, making friends, etc. Execution of such principles is a entirely different thing all together. So self help would involve you showing them how to act, behave, speak, argue, body language and posture, think, and showing them also how to execute in precision timing.

So you would then need to compile the top 20 trainers for your target niche, dissect countless months of feedback, concerns, improvements, executions, advertisements, products, and more and learn from it. Then you would actually be able to start making a product for the people (entirely different research involving months of study). So after you have become accustomed to that, you will then start making money and repeat sales. If anyone smells a flaw in your system or execution they will SCREAM fraud and you will fall harder than you ever have.

I think you got a good shot at becoming a legitimate self help expert, but it will require you to invest time and money to be successful. The other option is to go full retard like WF members and scam the crap out of people left and right and move on to the next big idea.

Legit websites usually give you a more stable and a more long-term profit, whilst quick cash websites are more unstable and usually die down after a while.

Make sure your website have pages for about us, contact us, privacy, terms of service, disclaimer and other boiler plate pages. People look to see that they are there and may glance at them to see if you are legit. Also make sure your website is doing press worthy things on a regular basis. Hopefully you're issuing press releases about those activities as well.

Just wondering, would it be realistic to hit about 100 a day purely off Adsense or would I need to do affiliate marketing to hit those numbers? I would love to just be writing content I enjoy without having to fully worry about marketing strategies and trying to sell too much if that makes sense

I've tried both kinds of sites. Quick money ones and legit ones.

Now, this is just my experience, and I'm still learning, but for me, the quick money ones weren't really so quick. And there really wasn't much money involved either. I also kinda hated working on them, I'd start writing something then get distracted in 2 seconds flat by whatever.

Working on a site that's built around something I actually know about and care about has been a completely different experience. I have no problem writing for it, and I'm always checking around forums to see how I can help, while also directing traffic to my sites.

I'm thinking of putting my basketball site back up, it has about 30 something pages that are search engine optimized, it used to generate me a dollar or two a day on adsense even though I only put adsense on a couple of the webpages. Is there a way I should put this site back up, because I heard it's not good towards google to put up everything at once

I don't see why there has to be a conflict between a so-called legit site and monetized sites. Why not plan to do both? Pick a niche you are really interested in, and plan the site based on it to be an authority site, but pick sub-components of the site that can stand on their own as micro niche sites. Carefully select good keywords for each section, and create content based on the keywords, then rewrite each set of articles once. Put the originals on your authority site, the rewrites on each MNS. Hold on to the authority site, monetize or flip the micros. Make money on both sides.

If you're not planning to put any fake content on it, it will be good. I mean you can create a blog where you share things that you find interesting and monetize with AdSense. That's completely legitimate.

If you're good at something that most people aren't, you can offer it on your site but lock it with CPA offer. You'll be perfecly whitehat and legit.

Just do what the others already said. Find something that you'll love to write, research and etc. and go for it!
