VPN or VPS (and if VPS... how to setup?)

After reading many threads around here and the web it is my understanding that in order to maintain a Stealth account VPN is NOT the answer. It seems that VPS is the better alternative.

So here's my question/problem. How do you setup a VPS? What VPS service do you recommend? If I just have a laptop (no other computers or equipment) will that work? Please help. I'm totally lost when it comes to VPS. I need multiple unique IP's (5-10) that I can switch to use my different stealth accounts.

A VPN and a VPS are 2 different things! A VPS is a virtual private server, it is a web server that can run websites or SEO tools. A VPN or virtual private network is a different animal. A VPN would allow your computer to connect to a businesses intranet securely as one example. In other words a VPN allows secure connections to another network.

For multiple IPs you would use private proxies. Proxies keep you hidden and secure from prying eyes.

That's not what OP means.

To answer your question, VPS would be the best since it has it's own IP address. But you must consider whether the monthly payment is worth it.

A VPN could have a lot of ips to connect to but they are most likely abused.

and yep you can connect from your laptop. Just check the BST threads to buy a VPS with different IPs

Could you point me in the right direction on getting started with proxies? Do you connect to them the same way that you connect to VPN's? Sorry if I sound like a newb- I honestly am when it comes to this stuff.

You wont be able to use VPNs much on ebay or paypal. They have most ips blacklisted. Use VPS but do not go cheap as they re used the ips and if someone got banned using that ip your account will too.

If you are using Firefox or Chrome, they will allow you to use proxies to surf the web, ie do your stealth and appear to be from a different location. Firefox has several plugins to use proxies easily, such as autoproxy and foxyproxy -- I am sure there are more as well.

If you go to the marketplace here, there are a lot of folks selling proxies -- you can get a private proxy that only you can use, or a shared proxy between 3 people or so, or even something like proxymultiply, that you can run to get a supply of public proxies with.

It simple to use, buy some -- add the addresses to your browser and voila you appear to be from elsewhere! lol There are some good threads here, do a quick search and you will get all the info you need!
