Lol, same thing happened for me. Copyright Strike. I submitted a counter notification, was this right? Am I in trouble?

The clip is used in many compilations etc and the guy who claims the clip (only 15sec out of a big compilation) is russian and has the video uploaded on his channel.

Idk out of experience can this mean trouble because I sent the counter notification w/o owning it?

;0)

For those who have experience promoting their videos, ad-words is charging me nearly $0.75 per view on my videos. Therefore, only promoting it for 5 or so views because my daily budget is set at like $2.50. Does anyone know why might this be?

I think they are charging so much because you've ticked all
of the Ad Formats, these are: In-search, In-slate, In-display, In-stream?
Have you checked that when launching a campaign?

This video might be helpful to you (@1:50):

This page gave me a better understanding of adwords for youtube. I wasn't aware of it until this post. I always adblock.
Code:

Is it okay to make a top 5 or top 10 song channel and try and get revenue from that? Or will you get sued fast?

Okay, I solved the high CPV on adwords but I also have another reoccurring issue... What is the point of promoting the videos in adwords if every single video I've promoted since this thread was started has no likes, no comments and no subscribers gained? It's like the views I'm getting are fake. The views don't show up in adsense either, today I had 150+ on one video, with 3 total views for the day in adsense... I understand the point of promoting is to get your video popular, but how is that possible when its never liked, shared or commented on?

The views shown on Adsense are not accurate. You should wait for 2 days and the exact stats will be shown in your youtube analytics.

If your video dont have a potential to be viral, then it is useless to promote it through adwords. As OP said, if you are not getting natural traffic after abt 10k paid views, then you can skip that video and try on a new one.

Understood. That still doesn't explain why every video I have promoted doesn't receive one like or comment. Even the worst videos get some sort of activity.

I like this method, except for one thing:

The OP implies that this method requires hundreds of videos to make a substantial income, and that many of them need to be promoted with AdWords for Video.

The target is 100,000 views before you stop paid promotion.

It would cost many thousands of dollars to do this, even at just $0.02 per click.

I think the method is sound if you're already wealthy and you somehow manage to get an AdSense account.

For most of us this method will require a more cost effective promotional technique.

My biggest problem with this method is that Google will not give me an AdSense account. I've never had one before, I've never been banned from anything... they just decline my application outright with little explanation.

If I ever figure out how to get an AdSense account I will give this a shot and share my results. ;)

Lots of great advice in this thread. When it comes to getting added into Ad$ense, your Youtube Channel/Website needs to generate traffic, be unique, and not violate G's TOS. For YT Partnership, having at least 3K - 30K monthly views with 1K subs and strong interaction should get you into the program without much of a problem. Once you get into the program, the monetization stats can take a few days to a few weeks to get a full view of your numbers if you are recently admitted to the program. I thought the program was bogus when I first joined and then my first payout was 250 USD. Just like working a real job, you have to put in your first two weeks to get a result as going viral Taylor Swift style isn't likely. Now to BHW techniques: Avoiding Audio Copyright - Get SoundForge or any audio program and change pitch and tempo of a song ever so slightly and that gets by the YT audio scanning software. Average listener won't notice, but the latest Bruno Mars or Justin Timberlake song will certainly make your video more popular and enjoyable for the average viewer. Avoiding Video Copyright - If you are going to get video from wherever you get it, chop it up, remove/crop watermarks and change the video length and add a catchy song remixed song. This will take time to do, but if you don't want that strike, it is worth the effort. Traffic: If you are going to go through Fiverr or any boosting services, use a service that will drip feed the boosting prior to monetizing. Ordering 1M hits to a newly minted channel with turtle shells will raise questions, but a channel with Make-Up tips for the ladies, for example, wouldn't bat an eye (pun very much intended). The niche and traffic boosting have to correlate when all is said and done. Subs, Likes, Comments, Favorites: Easy you can get an infinite amount of those options from EnhanceViews with their auto-viewer and Sandboxie on a dummy PC or what have you. Setup sandboxie with Enhance views and you can easily generate close to 100K credits a day which will more than supply ample interaction to your channel. Just use dummy YT accounts no way linked to your actual revenue-generating account.

Damn, it seems every BHWer is trying this method, cpcs on the videos are going over the roof haha

lol. Invested $120.00 bucks in Adwords to test this. Got a total of 1000 views. I tried to reduce the money per video spent and all it did was nothing. The only time the ad was shown was if i increased the amount to 6-7 cents per view. Personally, I think the adwords is a go broke method. I'd rather spend $120.00 on social bookmarks and dripfeeds. My stats say average cost was 7 cents per view btw. I can't afford 7 cents/view to bring people to my video. To get to 100,000 views would cost me in the thousands!

Second this.

Thank you for this great share. Will try it out. Seems like a solid model.
