Formed LLC in NV, need EIN advice.

Hi All,

Been reading this forum, and I took some gr8 advice and formed an LLC in Nevada. Got the paperwork back just now (two days later) and immediately went to IRS.gov to get my EIN, so I can open my bank account with Bank of America.

Where, oh where do I say the LLC is physically located? I incorporated in Nevada, and the only NV address I have is the one for the registered agent provided by the company I used to form the LLC. I can't move to the next step in the EIN process without knowing what to say the physical address is.

I'm in TX and have a brick and mortar address I can use.

That was it! Got my EIN, filled out online app for BofA business account (submitted Tax ID & Articles from Nevada) now waiting 1biz day for approval.

mind sharing what company you used to form it?

you don't really need a company to form them. go to google and look up nevada secretary of state, and then click on a link to the forms. for llc, you just fill out the articles of organization (75$) and the initial list of officers/managers (125$). Then you send it in and wait a few days.

Many thanks all for your responses. BofA approved my biz account within an hour on last Friday. I funded with a transfer, and received my checkcard today.

shamster25: I used FreeRegisteredAgent.com and took advantage of the $99 special, plus they act as my registered agent for the first year. So far they've been GREAT, I received my paperwork in less than 48 hours, and any time I have questions I can call my contact or go to live chat where they access my account and answer questions immediately.

The only issue with this is, if you are ever audited by the IRS, they will expect you to show up at an IRS office in Nevada with all your books and records. You can always plead ignorance, though, and say that you thought you had to use an address in the state of incorporation and ask to have the audit transferred to another district.

I started interviewing accountants and divulged my LLC is in Nevada. No one turned an interview down yet. I'll continue to do my due diligence and find someone with abilities consistent with my needs.
