PR6 Do follow backlink - Sitewide - 17K pages - Good idea ?

Hi guys,

There's an opportunity to get a PR6, do follow BL, in my niche.

The thig is the BL will appear on homepage, as well as on 17K pages.

It's not anchored, it's actually an image.

The website I want to use this on a 2008 domain, with new content since a few weeks. The website has 39 backlinks according to opensiteexplorer, DA 17, PA 30.

I've been out of the seo game for a while, and I'd like your take on this ?

It's actually quite beneficial to get a sitewide link... especially in the same niche. So go ahead and do it, as long as the PR isn't faked.

if you have scrapebox you can do a fake pr check, or ask someone with scrapebox to do it for you.

They're not selling BL's, you got one if you're a partner. (du something for them, which does not include buying something)

Nope you don't have to pay directly to become a partner. But you have to do somethjing that might require some money. (and not much,IMO, <$150
a year).

So if I read you guys right, the concern should if it's a true PR. I'm sure it is.

But what about getting 17K BL in one run to a website without much BL so far?

I'm not entirely sure of it, but I think that's not really a problem since it's a link from 1 site, added 1 time.
It's not like you're building 17K spam links on different sites in 1 run.

The website is niche related, as stated in OP. Plus, I'm pretty sure Google sees it as an authority website.

Anyway, I found a video from Matt Cutts where he basically says sitewide links are usually treated as 1 link by google. And even then, the thing to consider is the authority or the website in question, together with relevancy and non spammy links.

I'll give it a run and keep you guys updated if I'm not too lazy.

Matt Cutt likes to spill out alot of bs so don't believe what he says. I really doubt they treat sitewide links as just 1 link.

And there's no explanation on why the link can benefit you. It's just knowledge that comes from experience... but think of it this way: if this link can harm you, then you can sink any website with it. I'm telling you though from experience, ANY link from high PR pages is good for you, even if it's unrelated and contains many OBLs. In this case, it's a related link which is even better.

High PR links are *almost* NEVER harming links. They're high PR for a reason (Google sees them as authority sites), and if Google thinks the site is just a link farm, then they won't pass any link juice to other sites... simple as that.

The only problem is when the majority of your links are link farms from irrelevant sites, then that may raise a red flag in Google's eyes. I've been penalized using networks like SAPE before and those are all high PR links. Other than that, yes you're right that it's not a big deal if you get a small number of 'bad' links. I can't say there's no such thing as negative seo because I've never tried it before... I'm sure it exists but it's probably very difficult to implement.
