I wasn't sure were to post this, but this helps me make mo money and I hope people start using it. I wanted to buy a PC, but this is much cheaper so decided to try it. So far so good, except its a PC, shiiii ;0

Advantages:
- pc for free!
- no limit on what software you run
- can run on external hard drive so space is still cool!

Disadvantages:
- You are working on a PC!
- If you don't have enough ram, then don't even try this

-------------------------------
1. Download virtualbox from the interwebz and INSTALL
2. Don't create anything yet!
3. Open terminal & type the below code & HIT ENTER

Code:
[FONT=arial]curl -s [/FONT][FONT=arial][COLOR=#1155cc]h**ps://raw.github.com/[/COLOR][/FONT][FONT=arial][COLOR=#1155cc]xdisse**nt/ievms/master/ievms**.sh[/COLOR][/FONT][FONT=arial] | env IEVMS_VERSIONS="6" bash
[/FONT]

4. Open Virtualbox and start the IE WINXP
5. Download Chrome, then download avg, then malwarebytes free anti-malware. This should be enough to start using it safely.

-------------------------------

Share any more ADV. or DIS ADV. if you have any! Otherwise - use this and save some moneyz!

Nice info here I have been working on my Mac and PC seperately for a while now and want to consildate it into a VM, VPS, or any alternative. I have 8 gigs of ram, is this enough to use the VBox

Works well for me! - I have 8 RAM

If you add an external hardrive, it might increase the load speed and stress on the computer.

i just use the built in bootcamp utility and I run a pc on a separate partition of my hard drive if I ever need it

Definitely the best route, in my opinion. When you run any kind of vbox you're just killing you system resources, because they're being split between two OSs. Now, this doesn't really matter unless you're running resource hog programs like PS, AI, etc.

What was wrong with bootcamp? Unless this gets you a free version of windows I don't see the point personally.. My business partner uses windows on his Mac using bootcamp and it actually runs a lot smoother than many dell/sony/hp pcs.. runs mac os terribly though :P silly macs..

theres also parallels, thats probably the best way to do it

Frankly, PCs are so cheap why wouldn't you have a separate unit as a backup? Even Macs have their bad days.

Good stuff guys! I use it because I use heavy PC only software for SEO, ppc, etc..
I don't think bootcamp will handle that?!!

Bootcamp doesn't handle anything.. it's just a way of duel booting your machine.. I highly recommend you look into bootcamp as it sounds like it would work way better for you..

since i have only macs i run the software on bootcamp ... and it really sucks.

the touchpad is not really good working and you miss some windows buttons like del ect .....
its not good to work with.

Hahahahaa.. You don't know what your missing meng.
Lets not forget.. "Windows has detected a new update for your machine" - update 5 from 110 complete WTF!!

Here is how you have a shared clipboard? Just copy and paste between both machines;

In the Settings > General > Advanced >have Bidirectional selected. That should do it.

Also, try running a bot and one or two seo linking tools on your bootcamp and see how that works for you!
