Is anyone making money from computer games?

@OP - There are a lot of money to be made from games, but you have to follow the trends and dive as soon as hit games come out. Good example is Guild Wars 2. When the game came out you could sell powerleveling for up to 400-500$. 1 month later it was down to $40. Same with Diablo as you already know.
Generally most money are made from MMORPGs, but games that have different leagues like league of legends, SC etc... can also be quite profitable of course for those type of services where you have to raise their rank you really need to be good at the game

I see what you mean and I do understand the idea of jumping on as soon as the game is released, which I have done with a couple games before. Just thought I'd throw the question out there to see what people might have to say. I'm just looking for something new even though we are at a point where there hasn't been a major release for a while.

Virtual games are everywhere today but making money from it will be really tough though I know that there are people who are making great money out of it.

Diablo III was a fun one. I was already a fan of the first two and when this one came out I was so into it that I grinded for a few months with my buds.. Selling legendaries and gem crafting were insanely profitable for us at the time. Pop like 4 legendaries or more in a month and, depending on the stats, make some decent money (RMAH). All while playing a game you enjoy.

But I feel you, the game went down-hill as far as the only thing you could do was farm a certain level over and over.... And over....... And over.

I don't think he makes thousands. It's more like hundreds. He makes money other ways. He is a reseller of computer parts and has been the "Candy King" of his school since he was 12. Ha! I mean he buys cheap cans of coke and bags of sweets and sells them to his fellow students for a larger profit. He took after my other brother who did the same. Jamie Oliver helped the Gov to ban all coke machines here in the UK and the students had no way to buy coke in school, they were all replaced with water machines. What fricken' kid wants to drink a bottle of Evian water? (Have you ever noticed that Evian backwards is naive? - Take that water snobs!) Anyway so he bought cheap cans and sold them for about a 300% profit.

I'm trying to show him PPD + YT but he is still only a kid and doesn't seem that interested.

I always wanted to do this when I was younger and games like StarWars Galaxies were out. When someone sold a Jedi account for 5000 bucks, I took notice! There are still profitable farming techniques, but I have not found anything lately or any good games to hit up. I sure would love to get on board something standardized and using a system with some link minded people though!

The best thing in my opinion is to jump on a game early in it's release, one that has a big fan base already waiting for it and preferably hundreds of thousands of people that actively play - I'm talking like many hardcore gamers close to 10 hours a day when possible. These are the people that will spend RL money to get ahead in the game

I remember when I was younger and I spent like $500 on rs gold because I spent so much time on it - now there are big gold sellers that are hard to compete against though unless you have bots that farm the gold for yourself. I know of a few people that have made $100k+ just from buying and reselling gold.

D3 wasn't bad for awhile either, it's probably crap now. But before the real currency auction house I had a bot going and made a quick $120 or so within a few days from selling gold at around 1m per $10-$20 on ebay and forums (not 1m is probably like 10 cent)

Gold is actually like $0.02-$0.03 per million now haha. It's really declined. I made around $6,000 from flipping items on the auction house in the first 6 months or so.

Friend of mine was making about 4k Euro a month botting and selling gold on wow before most of his accounts got banned.
I Know of loads of guys that made a killing though botting and exploits mostly making in game currency and selling for $$$.

There is money to be made this way but there is always the chance of getting your accounts banned.
In the case i mentioned first the money he made in those few months made up for what he lost by far.

Problem i had when i was doing that sort of thing is unless you go all out you get trammpled by the bigger guys who have 5 accounts per server and rotate them etc, The Chinese market is massive as well (most of the guys who buy and sell gold/In game currency are from china)

you can see an average of goldprices amoungs a few MMO's at mmoshift gives an idea where the prices stand

i would play the game for a few days. then bot till high enough to make gold in the game. then i would then use this gold to fast build many different accounts. being rich in games helps speed up your development in game.

i would have the bot run on up to 7 accounts. this was for a single game. would play many games

there is some games that selling accounts makes quite a bit of money but takes a while to build up knowledge of how the game works. you have to be good at the game before you can even start to make money off of them. selling accounts can and does make more money than selling items in the game

also found games that is p2p does result in better roi but only if you are doing it on mass and get lucky

bot is really simple to be honest. although i know if your a coder botting is easier as some really responsive bots work better if you can code. most use javascript. so if you learn javascript and it has the option to code you should try it.

but i have learned that boting in games can be done by anyone. just make sure to keep up to date with the bot and keep updating it. other wise all you will achieve is banishment. i boted an accounts in 3 games for 2 years. for personal use and didnt get banned. but got lucky i wasnt logged on when they nucked bots in one of the games
