Is this bitch crazy? Or is this retail?

I'm not too familiar with this lady but she isn't the only one who wrote those two books. She has a SNS strategist and a community manager as co authors, thus inferring to me that the fee she charges probably doesn't go entirely into her pocket, which makes sense.

I wonder what the results are from her actual clients?

The thing I want to know is, how do clients get over the concern that they might not get any ROI? On thing I noticed is that she seems to be marketing to older people, due to the larger fonts (poor eyesight, smaller & outdated monitors, maybe).

So, I'm trying to put these two seemingly mutually exclusive ideas together. Older, moneyed people making a speculative investment in social media, this new-fangled thing that the young whippersnappers invented just last week? Why, we didn't need no damn FaceBook back in ye olden dayes when *I* was a kid. We used BARK, off of a tree. And we LIKED it. uphill, both ways, etc....

Also, is there a value of just simply sending off FB posts, tweets, etc... for the sake of doing it? Say for example an automated process where, twice a day, some computer automatically sends-out something that I believe is called "link bait", some interesting, possibly viral link to a youtube video, or whatever. Not advertising, just something that someone might like, share, etc...

Would something like this have value? Are there services that do this kind of thing now? If so, what's a price range? In my situation, I'd like to be able to provide social media "something", but 1) I don't know anything about it, 2) Don't want to, because 3) I find the whole thing thoroughly boring and stupid, but then 4) Everyone says it works, and makes money, so....

Is there a cheap way to automatically "do something" (useful) with social media, without me actually having to DO something?

Yes and no.

If you have a relationship with your twitter followers, the answer is yes, there is value in what you are describing. I do it all the time. But I interact all the time too. That's where the relationships come in. If you are not interacting and have all tweets and don't respond to anyone, then no one is going to pay attention to you or your tweets. People who do not want to put the time into raising their twitter like a baby should go to Pinterest. There you can automate a lot, get repins whether buying them or using a service such as addmefast, and you can reach a lot of people without having to put a lot of energy into it.

Anyone who wants to make money from twitter, study @jetblue 's tweets. From the very beginning of their twitter days, I said that JetBlue's sales were going to go up, and I was right. While the other airlines were suffering and laying people off, JetBlue was acquiring more planes and sales were on the rise. JetBlue responds to a lot of people. But the funny thing is that they delete their responses after a bit. Look at this. https://twitter.com/jetblue Notice how you don't see the responses. Now look at this. https://twitter.com/search?q=@jetblue&src=typd&mode=realtime Look at all their responses. While I am not a fan of deleting the responses from my stream because I want people to see that I interact, I am also not in the same league as JetBlue is. But the point is, interaction and time to baby your twitter are the keys to making money from it. People love a business that pays them attention. It's human nature.
