The tmobile have the number on the card that the sim card comes on so no but i have not tried the orange ones yet but it says on the orange packaging just put the sim in and we will text you your number so it looks like they will work, the only sim cards i know that need topping up first is giffgaff and 02 i think all the others work without topping up

I've ordered free SIM's from Orange before and they worked fine for YT. I didn't need to top them up either
