If accuracy/time is an issue, I will use private proxies to scrape. Public proxies are great for huge scrapes though. Like mike2000 mentioned, a public proxy service is ideal here. They are cheap, typically around 15$ per month, and refreshed often. One I can recommend from my personal experience is kensais proxy service. I'm sure there are other good ones.

dinkish also makes a good point, looking for proxies is a big waste of time!

Then you're obviously are doing it wrong, i have a nice list of sources with free public proxies that i can use when ever i need, tthe only extra time i lose is the time scraping and checking the proxies, there is no measurable time profit between private and public proxies... but he if you wanna burn out your proxies and spent your dollars on new proxies everytime you have done a Google scrape, have at it. I'll use that cash to by me a beer

Use private proxies and subscribe to services which offer fresh lists,scrapeboxmarketplace etc.Any list you can download off the net will have been hammered to death,you need fresh lists and to use them fast before the site bandwidth alerts the webmaster who then closes comments(but those already made stay!).

OK, I don't know what you mean when you say burn those proxies, but I am guessing you are talking about getting the IP's blocked by Google. Getting those proxies banned on Google does not mean:
1. You will never be able to use those proxies again.
2. You cannot use them for posting purposes.

Google lifts the ban on IP's in around 3-4 hours for me.
Google ban does not mean the websites that you are posting to are blocking those IP's.

Now for a fact, I have 20 private proxies that I use to scrape on single thread, NO MULTI-Threaded harvester. The IP's don't hit a block and I scrape hundreds of thousands of URL's.
I use the same IP's for posting purposes and I have a very good success rate with them too.

So yeah, everyone is free to toot the prophecy of Public = Scrape and Private = Post. I do something else.

reverse engineer lists based on the auto approved posts you have made.

one way to do that with google is to scrape comments of spammers that dont care about using the same comment over and over again and then see what pages are indexed in google with that search query.

you can then build a nice list that way and begin expanding from there.

remember autoapprove lists can take time to build but once you have a nice list you can really exploit it easily. one other tip is to get all of the pages on an auto approve domain by crawling those sites.

this helps you find pages that have less comments and thus will be more effective.

I don't think the problem is with the proxies. The issue is that most of your comments are pending review. They may show up later. What I usually do is to do more of pingback/trackback posting and a little of commenting. In fact most of my pingback posting scale through the spam checking automatically. But I don't think scrapebox supports pingback.
