Good luck ranking on digg or reddit. Slashdot I believe is more for tech news, but could be mistaken.

I think you will find that certain web 2.0s favour certain niches such as slashdot for tech (as someone else said). I work in the finance niche and jumptags used to index my articles after 20 mins after submission but I think they have stopped accepting new content.
I also find that newsvine is really quick at getting my sites indexed but they are tough to deal with...They have banned me twice...

You write article, okay.. I mean how many sites we find that have made much better articles than wikipedia or other websites, but they certainly rank low, probably because of lack of back links.
