Hi guys, thought id share one of my offline blackhat methods. It's not technically speaking "marketing".. but there wasn't a section for offline blackhat.
This is what i call the 50 gram scam! as a smoker myself there's nothing i like more than free tobacco (Or at least very cheap tobacco!) so heres a little method i've been using for a long time.
The fact that i travel around a lot in my job greatly helps me pull this off, since you cant really do it to the same shop more than 1 or 2 times, you can generally get away with doing it in supermarkets a bit more.
When I'm traveling to see clients I'm always in a suit and tie, and generally smart and presentable. Basically what I'm saying is i don't look like a benefit seeking scruff.
Step 1, buy a 12.5G pouch of tobacco from somewhere (not the place your about the scam!)
Step 2, Go to buy your tobacco (supermarkets work best) and make sure you have the 12.5G pouch in your pocket.
Step 3, Ask for a 50G of the same tobacco, pay for it and walk towards the door, put in in your pocket, and then pull out the 12.5G pouch. Inspect it, and with an audible gasp turn around and head back to the counter.
Step 4, Kick up a fuss, wave your receipt around and generally make the cashier feel like a bit of a prat, if they put up some resistance demand to speak to the manager.
Step 5, Enjoy your 37.5G of free tobacco!
I've never had this fail on me, you need to look smart and respectable, otherwise they will just call your bluff.
