Hope this thread brings in some additional help for eye problems...

I wear glasses and once in a while I get up, stretch, walk, and sometimes rest to prevent back pain. When I feel too tired, I don't push myself to work too much because I become less productive.

I also use f.lux

For those who have back pain swimming is great try it 1-2 times a week :)

Every 15 minutes, look at a spot 15 or more meters away for 15 seconds.

Ever since I started doing that, my eyes have been less strained and my eyes have stopped progressively getting worse. My eye exam this year showed my eyes barely got worse from last year.

Another exercise to try is gently rotating your eyes in clockwise/counter clockwise direction every hour, followed by "palming" (very relaxing for the eyes, search google for what it is).

I have a timer on my computer that blinks my screen every 15 minute, and alarm every hour. It's also great way to stay productive (workin in blocks, 1 hour work, 5 min break, 1 hour work, 30 min break, repeat)

1. Get up at least once every hour and look out a window for a while, get exercise.

2. Proper lighting, natural is preferred but I went to all LED in MY homer office rather than CFLs (refresh rate issues can tire your eyes and worse!) and adjust your monitors for proper brightness and contrast. Monitors should be eye level, most people have their monitors way too low! And I used LED monitors rather LCDs again because of the refresh rates issues that bothers some people.

3. I have used flux in the past as well.

4. Damn, get a good chair!

i just low totally contrast and brightest of monitor, and with low light screen, i can watch, like i watch the photos. no hurt at all.

Odd as i my eyes don't hurt ?
One thing i've noticed tho is after all those years online, i don't see as good as before.
But it's probably because i'm getting old, that's all.

Staring at a screen for many hours dose have it's adverse effects for sure, My eyes get all messed up from it every day, the only thing I do is take brakes throughout the day.

There is no evidence to suggest that long term exposure to computer screens hurts your eyes.

Vitamin A helps with vision... but I wouldn't take a supplement for it, because it's a fat soluble vitamin. Eat more carrots. :)

meh.... just downloaded f.lux... it rocks :P thanks Blakester :P
